Ch. 35 – Rewards can be so nice.

Spring break for the boys was the 3rd week in April, and only having a week was not long enough for a road trip.   Max and. I had thought about taking Riley and David to Disney and Universal, but that would no be fair to Maggie, and then he mentioned a cruise. So we decided to head down to Orlando and catch a cruise.

The parents agreed to run the campground for a week, but insisted that after that they wanted to travel.  Dad had bought a small fiberglass trailer and needed to pick it up after we got back, and we had sold the old RV and needed to deliver it about 3 hours from where dad needed to pickup his trailer. So after the cruise we would leave for Minnesota, pulling the Jeep, and dad following in his pickup.  We had also purchased a 16 foot model.

The boys wanted to invite along David’s friend Will, but his parents would not allow it.  I mean really, 2 adults, who you don’t really know offer to take your teen aged son on a floating party.  I didn’t blame them, maybe he can go camping at the campground this year.

We had to get notarized letters, original copies of birth certificates, and both the boy’s passports (which I was glad to suggest that they got over the summer) and all sorts of legal stuff to be able to take them out of the country on a cruise without Carl and Maria.

We booked a 5 night cruise that stopped in Labadee Haiti, Falmouth Jamaica, and the Bahamas.  I had found a nice large suite that had a bedroom with 4 beds (2 sets of bunk beds), and another master bedroom with a queen in it.

We placed a diaper order well in advance of the trip and had it shipped to the FedEx depot near the airport, so we just had to get off the plane, get our rental car and pickup the diapers.  It should be enough for 2 weeks for all 3 of us. Yes it was more than we needed, but better to have overstock than understock.

I told the boys that nobody would know them on the cruise and they would never see them again after this week (you hope); so they could wear whatever they liked, meaning if they wanted to dress as toddlers they could.

Max and I promised Carl and Maria we would have them back early that Sunday or late Saturday night; we wouldn’t let them get into trouble either on the ship.

The plan was to load our jeep up and drive to their house on Friday afternoon while they were at school, so that we could be loaded up soon after they got home.  Carl would drive us in their van to the Fort Wayne airport where we would fly out that evening on a charter jet straight to Orlando.  We would have flown commercial, but it was only allegiant and they charge for everything. Not to mention we would have to keep to their flight schedule.

The day came and from what Maria told me the boys were on cloud nine going to school.  She finished making sure that she packed everything that the boys wanted to take.  She let them pack as many ABDL outfits as they wanted, but also insisted that they pack normal clothes too just in case.

We got up there around 2 pm and quickly unloaded our stuff into the back of the van.  As soon as the bus pulled up both boys ran into the house and made sure they packed everything they wanted to take. Both brought their ipads and phones, along with chargers.  Once that was all done, both of them changed into fresh diapers.  It was about 4 pm at this time and our flight was booked in for 9 pm.  So everybody decided to get a quick sandwich on the way and we headed to the airport.

Neither of them had ever flown before, so this would be an experience for them.  Carl pulled up to the General Aviation building and we entered and passed through a very quick security, and headed out to the plane, where our luggage was loaded up.  Kisses to mom and dad and we boarded the plane.  We were not alone on the flight, as I will usually book along with others who want to share the flights.  So tonight we had 4 business travelers going home to Charlotte, and then we would continue onto Orlando.  After waiting for the 4 business people, the door was closed and we taxied out to and got in line to take off.  In about 15 minutes we were barreling down the runway.  Max and I were relaxed, but neither of the boys were… they gripped the armrests. Then like magic we rotated and were off the ground and climbing.

“Hello this is the captain, we are looking at about 90 minutes until our first stop in Charlotte, and then another hour into Orlando Exec.  You are now free to unfasten your seatbelt.  Enjoy your flight”

The flight attendant came around and got us drinks and snacks.  At this time both boys got up and got their diaper bags that had their iPads in them along with headphones.  Soon we were alerted by the attendant that we needed to fasten our seatbelts, sit upright and turn off and stow away all items.

Landing was pretty normal.  I then had to remind the boys that we have to take off and land again.  We said good bye to the business travelers, and waited for their luggage to get taken off.  Then the door was closed and we taxied back out and took off again.

The attendant said it was ok to unfasten and offered more drinks to us.  Which both teens never turned down.  Soon enough we buckled back up and made our decent into the air space and landed.  We had a Chevy Suburban waiting on us when we got off the plane.  We headed to the hotel that I had booked for the night. I had booked a 2 room suite, so the boys would not be stuck on a sofa bed, and would have their own beds.

Saturday morning we went to breakfast at the hotel, max was dressed the most grown up of the 4 of us, as me and the teens were in some light shorts and onsies, with obvious diapers underneath.  A couple people gave us strange looks, but we don’t give a shit.  I could tell that there were some younger kids probably 10 or younger who were too old to normally be in diapers, but were still diapered under their PJ’s.

After breakfast we headed back to our room, diapers got changed and then to pack up anything that we had unpacked in the short time that we were at the hotel and loaded it back into the SUV and headed to the FedEx depot to pickup our shipments.  Next we had a 90 minute drive to the cruise terminal.  We parked the SUV in the lot and loaded everything into the shuttle bus that took us to the ship.  All our luggage and packages were whisked away for us to see them later.

We entered the terminal and went through security, checked in, photos taken, sea passes printed  and we were walking onto the ship.  Since we had a suite we were able to board first, there was a reception and snack for us in one of the bars.  Then about 1 pm which was 2 hours before the rest of the passengers, we were able to get to our rooms.

The first thing that Riley said when we entered the suite was “I thought Max said the rooms were like broom closets?”

“Well the cruise we met on, he did have a broom closet, I had a balcony room, which was still very smaller than this room.” I said explaining that there are many different sizes and levels of staterooms on the ship.

Just then a knock at the door and it was out suite attendant bringing the luggage in.  He first brought the suitcases in and asked where they went.  The twin’s closet was in the hallway and Max and I’s was in our bedroom.  Next came the 2 boxes of diapers, which we just had him leave in the living room and we would sort those out.  He came back in a few minutes with 2 larger trash cans and put 1 in each of the 2 bathrooms.

“I will empty when I clean room or if you need me to do sooner.  If you need anything this is my number.  You little boys have a nice time on your cruise” He said

“Well how do you like your bedroom?” Max inquired as the boys were unpacking their clothes into the closet and drawers.  They stacked up the bags of diapers on the top bunks.

“It is nice, kinda different than the cribs, hope I don’t fall out” David said

“Oh I don’t think you will. See that white mesh in the top of the closet, that was something I had put in here.  It hooks on the top bunk and stretches down to the bottom of the bottom bunk.” I said as I grabbed the items from the top of the closet.

I helped David take the one set and attach it to his bunk and Riley followed along.  Soon enough there were two enclosed beds with a zip up entry, just like a portable crib.  Their faces said it all

“Thank you two so much for doing this for us” Riley said as he hugged both of us.  Followed by David doing the same.

“Ok, well we have some time before dinner, we have a reservation for 6 pm and a table for 8… so there will be 4 other people with us, but you are fine to dress however you would like.  So did you two want to get your diapers changed and then we can go walk around the ship” I said

“Yeah I need to change.” David said, which Riley also said he needed to as well.

So we all went to our rooms and the twins changed, and daddy changed me and we met back up in the living room when we were done.  We decided that we wanted to have a continental breakfast delivered in the morning.  The boys and myself chose chocolate milk and coffee along with Danishes to be delivered, while Max was just a coffee and OJ person.

Before leaving to walk around the ship, we grabbed our tumblers so we could use our drink packages. We all got the upgraded drink package, as neither Max or I were that big of alcohol drinkers to make the cost worth it.

We ended up stopping off getting a slice of pizza, ice cream cones, virgin daquiri’s and seeing most of the ship.  By the time we were done walking around it was time to set sail and there was a bon voyage party on the pool deck.  We found a quiet place on one of the covered decks and went over what we wanted to do that night.  It was decided that we would watch a stage show after dinner, then if we were still in the mood they were playing a movie on the pool deck.

About this time it was getting close to our dinner seating.  Everybody’s diapers would hold until after dinner, but probably not much after that.

We arrived at the dining room and gave them our name and they lead us to our table.  We were shortly joined by another family of 4 who had kids about the twins’ age.  Did I mention that Myself and the twins were all in printed onsies and elastic waist shorts.  The first non-verbal impression of us was met with raised eyebrows.  I knew their kids were trying to hold back what they really wanted to say.

“Hello, I’m Kyle, and this is my wife Susan and our sons James and Tyler, they are 14 and 15” Kyle said

“Hello I’m Max,  this is my partner Jason, we’re 30 and 32, and these are my 16 year old brothers Riley and David.” Max said to which each of us acknowledged when he said our name.

“Really I thought you were a single dad of 3” Kyle said

“Well in a way I am a single dad to Jason, as he is about like a toddler and taking care of him is a full time job” Max said

“Why do you guys dress weird” Tyler said, to which Susan shot him a death stare.

“Honestly, I am that 4 year old who never grew up, and frankly I don’t have to now.  I hit a lottery jackpot and frankly never have to work another day in my life, so I just do what makes me happy.” I said, pretty much admitting about my lottery winnings, which was kinda always going unsaid.  I really don’t think his brothers had ever caught on that I don’t have a job that would bring in the kind of money to allow me to live this lifestyle

“My brothers just choose to be toddlers as a way to cope with the need to wear diapers.  If it takes away some of the stress of their situation and makes them happy, who are we to judge” Max said

“Well I must say it is unique, but I guess it could be worse. But really you just live like a toddler all the time?” Susan said, obviously intrigued about all this.

“Yeah for most of the times.  I started off alone, just traveling around the country in my RV, shooting video blogs on YouTube and writing a blog online.  Then after doing that for 8 months I got tired of traveling, so I booked a cruise and that is how I met Max.  After his cruise, I had booked a second one and then hooked back up with him after that and made him the offer of being my caregiver and it has grown from there.”  I said

“I had always had problems with wetting at night, and it got worse.  Riley started having issues after having a big seizure or two.  So Mom and Dad had us in diapers, then when Max brought Jason into the family we got more into being little and it really helps cope with having to wear diapers” David said, obviously making up that they had to wear diapers, when it kinda started as a punishment for both of them.

“So what else do you two do for fun?” James asked

“Well we play on X-box when not doing stuff with school, and then in the summer Max and Jason and Jason’s parents own a campground, so we are there much of the summer riding 4-wheelers, helping run the campground.  I take photos too” David said

“I read a lot, work on computers and work at the family store with my dad.  I like watching football and hockey, but I am not able to play them because of my epilepsy” Riley said

“What about you two?  What do you do for fun?” David asked Tyler and James

“We both run track in the spring and do cross country in the fall, Tyler is in drama club and I do choir” James said

By this time the waiter was ready for our orders and we placed the orders and made further small talk.

“So what would possess you to bring two teenagers on a cruise if you did not have to?” Kyle asked jokingly.

“Well being in a family with 5 kids, getting alone time is hard, and they both worked really hard this past year at the campground, and we had promised to take them on a trip of their own this year.” Max said.

“The only sibling left at home is our little sister, she’s 9 and it would not have been fair to take the boys to some place like Disney or universal when she could not go, so we picked something that they would enjoy as older kids” Max added on.

“So where are you all from?” Kyle asked

“Well Max and I live near Columbus, Ohio, and the boys live about 10 miles from Decatur, Indiana, but still in Ohio.  You?” I said

“We’re north of Fort Wayne in a little small town called Waterloo.  I assume you flew out of Fort Wayne airport to get here?” Kyle said

“Yeah, we chartered a shared jet on the way down, and back.  I have a ‘buy in’ for a shared charter jet service.  Basically I can choose to fly totally private, or hitch a ride with others, and that is what we did.  It allows us more lenient luggage options and quicker times from the car to the air” I said

“Sounds nice” Susan said

“The few times we have used it, it has been nice to have.  It is the experience of a private jet, but not the expense of owning and maintaining it.” Max said

After dinner we headed back to our suite and got changed and headed out.  The boys noticed that the trash can had been emptied from before and the beds turned down with their stuffed animals laying on the pillows.  We made our way to the theatre for the show and just happened to run into Kyle, Susan and their boys and ended up sitting with them.

The show was nice, a dance review, but it was something different than watching a movie. After the show Kyle and Susan wanted to go to one of the bars where they had a piano player.  The kids were allowed to come in, but obviously could not order any alcohol.  They got quickly bored and asked if they could go to the teen club and get some pizza.

“It is fine with me, but you two better be on your best behavior, only get your own drinks, and never leave them unattended. Keep your phones on you as we will be checking up on you” Max said.  To which Kyle and Susan echoed to their two as well.

The kids ran off to the teen club as they were doing a dance night.  Of course awkward teenage boys just found a table and watched people.  They ended up not staying there very long before they went to the pizza place, but not before stopping into a bar and getting another virgin drink.

Tyler and James had been whispering to each other for a few minutes and texting back and forth… “ask them then” Tyler said to James.

“No you do it?” James said to Tyler

“Fine!” Tyler said  “James wanted to know how wearing diapers feels.”

“NO! you did” James said

“It feels great, like a warm hug around your hips. A constant feeling” David said

“Oh, do you, ya know like to wear them? Even though you have to wear them?” Tyler asked. To which James was also listening to get the answer too.

“Yeah I do really like wearing them, I don’t wake up in a wet bed, and don’t wet my pants.  Yeah, I get teased at school for having to wear diapers, but I don’t care.” David said

“Ok, so what, you want to try them?” Riley said putting them on the spot, breaking the ice, which caused both boys to blush a little bit.

They talked a bit more, sometime a diaper question came up.  Tyler and James were intrigued how people would choose to act like toddlers and wear diapers.

Riley’s watch and phone started ringing, getting his attention that he had to take his meds.

“What’s your phone and watch going off for?” Tyler asked

“He has to take his meds.  After 6 years, you get to know the 10PM alarm.” David said

“Come on, let’s go back to our room.  I need to change and take my meds, then we can come back here or walk around the ship.” Riley said as they got up and left the pizza shop and headed back to the staterooms.

Ch. 34 – New camp year

Max and I had been talking about our plans were for the summer in terms of are we going to travel or not, and to where.  The twins were really itching to do a road trip with us, and not be under their parent’s thumb for spring break coming up, or maybe a week in the summer.

Max said that we needed to be at the campground more this year and let my mom and dad have the summer off. Which I can understand.  They have basically been living at the campground pretty much all spring summer and fall.  We had also decided to hire work campers this summer, since we had so much trouble with finding part time help last year.

We had 3 sets of couples that we hired for work camping.  Each person had to do 16 hours a week, which included office work, cleaning and maintenance; It was to be split pretty much equally over the week for all.  After the 16 hours they were paid for the extra hours.  In exchange they got their spot, water, electric, internet, and discount for propane.

Dad and Max did the interviews for the work campers.  We had hired a same sex couple, a retired couple, and a 20 something couple.  The retired couple said they were traveling with a class C RV, the young couple was in a truck camper, and our same sex couple said they had a pull behind trailer.

We had them come the last week of April, the week before we opened up for the season.  Max and I had arranged to have them arrive Sunday whenever they wanted to.  The plan was to do 3 days of training starting Monday.

Dad and Max were going to handle the outdoor stuff that needs to be done, this was allotted for 2 days.  Mom and I would do training for the office software, cash register, and then all 4 of us would cover the campground rules and policies.

We had Steve and Donna, our retired couple.  Alex and Willow, the 30 year old couple.  Shawn and Marcus were our same sex couple, Shawn was 35, and Marcus was 21.  I could have pegged Marcus as his son, but they assured us that they were a couple.

Dad and Max did the outdoor stuff with Steve, Alex, Willow and Shawn; showing them the property, going over what is required. Alex needed help with how to operate a tractor, which dad said he would help him with, the other two were more than proficient.  They covered all the ‘dirty jobs’ of the campground; cleaning bathrooms, emptying tanks and running the honey wagon.  The biggest chore of the year is de-winterizing the water system.

At the end of the year all the water had been blown out of the pipes, the sinks and toilets had pink antifreeze.  We pump the antifreeze into the water system as well, so all the taps need to be run for several minutes.  So they had to make sure each site had the tap open, while slowly turning the water back on to the section of sites, including the shower houses and bathrooms.

Being seasoned campers they were more than able to assist with the systems in a typical RV, which some new campers may need help with setting up their campsites and the facilities.

Next they started in on turning the power on to each site and testing that it worked, basically plug in a surge protector/tester and then flip the breaker and check to see the wiring is correct.

That afternoon Marcus came up to the office to see if he could help with anything.  When I saw him walking up I seriously thought it was a kid of one of the seasonal campers that had dropped by.  As soon as he got close I noticed something was different about him.  He was almost dressed like he was 13 rather than 21.  He had a Stitch t-shirt and baggy jeans on.  Mom put him to work on folding letters and stuffing envelopes that we were sending out to our previous campers.  When he ran out of envelopes and went to get another box off a top shelf, that’s when I saw it.

Peeking above the top of his jeans was the distinct waistband of a Goodnites pull-up.  I really did not know what to do, should I say something.  Could he be an ABDL, or maybe incontinent?  I didn’t want to embarrass him, so I did nothing.

I also was diapered as I always am, but was not flaunting it, being dressed in Jeans, polo and a onsie underneath.

Dad and Max and the other 4 got done with their work about 4:00 pm, and they all came into the office, where Shawn noticed that Marcus was in the office helping us.

“Hey sweetie, what are you doing here, I thought you were going to be at the camper all day playing…. On your computer” Shawn said.

“I got bored so I came up here after walking around a bit.” Marcus said.  He acted like he was being scolded.

“Ok, well I’m sure your help was appreciated, let’s get back to the camper and make dinner buddy.” Shawn said as they headed back to their camper.

Since training for the office stuff was not until tomorrow, Donna had taken the chance to go into town and do their shopping and get to know the area. She soon came up the lane and stopped at the gate, as the gate was closed.

“No time like now to talk about the entry gates. Ok, you all need these.” Mom said as she sat 6 of the gate fobs on the counter. “These are manager level fobs, so they will open the metal gate at the end of the lane and this one.  Also there is a bypass code in case you do not have your fobs.  Your fobs and codes work 24/7.”

“Weekend campers do not have fobs, so whoever is working the office will have to raise the gate by hitting the green button here where it says office gate.  The gate at the end of the lane is open when the campground is open.  There is a keypad and fob reader out there.  If it is closed you can use your fob, or code.  If it is closed and somebody arrives at the gate and needs in, they will hold zero on the keypad.  The gate will call the office number, and on duty cell.  To open it just hold the star key on the phone.  There is an exit sensor on each gate.” I said

“We close the gate at the end of the lane at midnight on the weekends and 11 through the week, nobody is to be allowed in unless it is an emergency or prior approval.  We do not leave the gate by the office open ever, we either raise the gate, or they have a fob.” Dad said.  “Well we are done for the day, tomorrow we will do the office systems training here.  We will open the office at 9, and you are welcome to swing by for coffee and one of us will get some donuts in town.  Jason and my wife will start training at 10”

They all went back to their trailers, Max and I went back to our RV and mom and dad went home. I had told Max about Marcus and that I was 99% certain that I saw the top of a goodnite type pull-up on him.  Max said that it was probably just me ‘wanting’ him to be a diaper boy since he was so young looking and cute.

He was probably right, I was just wanting to see that.  We ate dinner, watched some TV and then Max said it was time for bed and put me to bed.  I had an early day tomorrow.

I was up at the office at 8:30 that morning, we had setup a couple tables and chairs with laptops on them near the 70” TV in the activity room.  Max got the coffee going and shortly around 9:00 mom and dad came up the drive.

Mom had gotten 2 dozen donuts and muffins for everybody to enjoy.  Shortly after all 6 of our work campers arrived at the office.  Dad took Shawn and Steve with him and left Alex, Willow, Donna and Marcus with us for the office training.  Shawn and Steve had already said in their interview that they were not interested in office work, and Marcus said he was only interested in office work. We also had  another local full time person and part-time for each department, and a floater from last year who would be in Wednesday.

That was fine, so we had 4 people to train on the reservation system, cash register, keeping inventory, tracking and loaning out equipment like power adapters, games, etc.

Donna had some experience in the reservation software, the rest were computer literate to varying extents.  Most of this stuff was boring to most, but it has to be known as the office gets very busy on the weekends, and people get impatient.

Max had about half knowledge in the software and had did the online trainings the night before, but he sat in the back with his MacBook following along.

Today I noticed that Marcus filled out his jeans a little more, making them look less baggy.  He also had a shirt that was tucked in under his Baby Yoda t-shirt.  He also brought a backpack with him.  Now tell me that all signs did not point to a diaper boy.

My suspicions were bolstered as we walked to the office and I could see the boxy outline of a diaper butt, and when he moved I could hear a slight crinkle, it was faint, but it takes one to know one.

We broke for lunch at 2:30, Dad and the other outside people had broke about 2 and had started the grill and were making hamburgers that we had in the freezer.

We had worked out a deal with a local butcher shop to sell a small amount of their meats in the general store, and we always had boxes of frozen hamburger patties, as people always either forget food, or run out and don’t want to make the 10 mile trek into town.  Even though there is a Dollar General up the road, they are really just good for hot dogs.

When we broke for lunch, Marcus grabbed his backpack and headed off to the bathroom, to emerge about 10 minutes later and went straight to the dumpster and came back and washed his hands and acted like nothing happened.

Marcus had not grabbed a burger, just a bottle of water, in addition to his shaker bottle, like the kind that people use for protein shakes. He had been drinking from that big shaker bottle all day along with a bottle of water. He opened the top of the shaker bottle and reached into his backpack and grabbed a baggie of premeasured powder and poured it in the container along with the bottle of water and sealed it up and shook it up.  It was funny because it took all of his body movement to shake that dang thing.

I just thought that maybe he did not like meat or animal products, but when we got the delivery truck from the ice cream company he was all for a cup of ice cream; you know the ones with the little wooden spoons.

I had pulled Max aside and said that we should invite Shawn and Marcus over this evening, and he agreed.

The afternoon for us office folk was spent unloading boxes of stock that had arrived in the last week, stocking the ice cream case, storing the excess, general cleaning, marking what light bulbs maintenance needs to replace in the activity building. We had about 40 reservations for this weekend’s soft opening, so we went ahead and printed out their check-in paperwork.

The work day ended about 5:00 pm, again it was almost like Shawn was picking up Marcus from the babysitter’s or school.  The two walked hand in hand back to their cute little camper.

Max and I got into the side by side and rode back to our campsite, as I was in need of a change.  After a diaper change I went over to Shawn and Marcus’ campsite and I knocked on the door.

I could hear somebody right inside the door, but it took a moment for them to open it.  What I saw confirmed my theory about Marcus.  As soon as the door opened, I could see into the camper briefly.  There where what should have been a sofa/bunk bed, but instead it looked like they had put a rail up to make it into a crib.

Shawn stepped out, closing the door behind him “Hey boss, what’s up.” He said kind of stammering.

“Not much, just wanted to invite you two to come to our place and enjoy dinner and hang out.” I said

“Uh, um. I guess we could, Marcus is kind of a picky eater, so he’ll probably skip dinner” Shawn said

“Hey man, not trying to pry into your lives, but if I saw what I think I saw, it looks like you have a crib in there.  Like I said no judgement here, I am down with the crinkle too” I said, trying to tip my hand

His face and demeanor changed a bit until it clicked. “So you are the ABDL?  I thought it might be max, or one of the others, as you said there are other people part of the family who helps run the place”

“Yeah, that would be me, the Boss Baby” I said.

“Well as long as we are being honest, come on in” he said as he opened the door to the camper.

Inside I see as soon as walk in Marcus sitting in a crib, he was looking worried like they may have gotten fired.  The camper was small, no dinette, well it had a dinette, it was just in a bed format.

Shawn saw the worry in Marcus’ eyes.  “It’s ok baby, he’s the ABDL”

“Yeah it is fine.  I kinda wondered yesterday, as when you reached up to get something off the shelf in the office I saw the top of a goodnite, and then today with bringing your bag with you and going straight from the bathroom to the dumpster and a few other things it kinda gave it away more… nothing obvious, just if you are a diaper wearer you notice things” I said

Shawn had moved to the bed and was sitting down on the bed, I just kinda stood near the stove top looking the camper over.  “Nice camper, small but looks like it works for you two. Stove, fridge, sink and I assume a bathroom” I said knocking on the door.

“Yep we had the 13 foot version without the bathroom, and the little bitty fridge, and it worked too, but I had ordered this 16 foot new, there was a 12 month wait, so we used the 13 footer until it was ready and then sold the 13 footer for pretty much what I paid for it”

I couldn’t help but notice that above the crib a bag of what looked like formula was hanging and it went into a little pump hanging on the crib rail, the tubing continued into the leg hole of Marcus’ onsie.

“I’m guessing the feeding tube is the reason you did not eat anything at lunch, you were drinking your meal.” I said

To which Marcus affirmed.  “When we get to a new place, I try to be as normal as I can, but it is not always the easiest thing to do.  Our last work camp job the ladies in the office bullied and bossed me around and did not treat me well, and then when they found out I was a little baby, we got told that we were not working out and either had to leave, or pay for our spot like a normal camper.  We stayed for about a month, and daddy I mean Shawn could not find another job and we could not afford to stay there much longer.”

“It’s ok buddy, don’t ever feel bad about us having to leave there it was a bad situation.” Shawn said  “We just boondocked and slowly looked for work.  I was in construction and building maintenance, so I could find day labor stuff and return back to the camper at night.”

“Then I was looking for another place, looking on YouTube, found your place and read your website and waaayyy at the bottom you had an AB pride logo, I knew it was that because I hovered over it and it said the graphic name was AB pride.  So I applied for the spot, and hoped we would get it.  It was either here or we would have to go back to his parents house… my mom’s house is definitely not happening.”

“Yeah I had that AB pride logo put on there as just somewhat of a beacon to see if anybody else would ever notice, a couple people have.  The first year we ran the place I let my toddler side out enough that people got the hint that I was the Boss Baby and if they did not like it to find other camping arrangements” I said

“Hey it’s your place” Shawn piped in.  “I told Marcus to let you all know in the application that he has special issues, but he did not want to say anything that might get us not hired.  Hey, if you want us to join you two for the evening we can, I just need to get him changed and situated and then we will be over.”

“Ok, well I am going to drive around and make sure things are picked up, lock up the office if it isn’t already and I’ll be back to pick you two up.” I said, knowing that our camper over in the new section was quite a hike.

I made my rounds, making sure the office was locked up, grabbed the on-call phone, dialed into the front gate and closed it, texted Max that they accepted our dinner offer and we would be home soon. I swung back by Shawn and Marcus’s campsite and they were waiting.  This time Marcus had a medium sized backpack on with what I assumed was his feeding pump in it as the tubing came out and disappeared into his waistband of his jeans. Shawn had the backpack that Marcus had with him today, obviously this was probably his diaper bag.

“All ready?” I said

“Yep!” Marcus said as he hopped in the back of the side-by-side with Shawn getting in the front.

We rode to the back of the park and through the gate to the new section of the park. The only things back here are our new RV, the workshop and the new lodge. “You live all the way back here” Marcus said

“Yeah this is the new section of the campground, we are going to have it as more of a group camping section or a premium section.  We moved our rig back here so that we could free up space in the main campground.  We might do an ABDL campout at some point.  We can close the gate, and people can enter from the other side.” I said as we rolled down the path.

Max had made some BBQ chicken breasts, mac and cheese, and mixed veggies.  For dessert he made some banana pudding, with vanillia wafers and sliced bananas.  Dinner was great as Max is a great cook.

“So Marcus, you do not eat solid food?” Max asked

“Not really, I was born with some very messed up gastric issues, basically my stomach and intestines cannot process and break down any meat and some veggies.  I can eat veggies as long as they are not cooked in or contain meat products.  So like I can eat the mixed veggies you made, but if you had made green beans with ham or bacon, I could not eat those.  I would get seriously sick if I did.” Marcus said

“Growing up my parents and doctors could not figure out what the problem was.  Finally they figured it out.  I tried to just eat what I could, it was not enough to sustain weight.  You know how hard it is to get a 7 year old to eat fruits and vegetables all the time.  After loosing 10 pounds in a year and not gaining any weight, the doctors started with a feeding tube through my nose, which I really hated, but it helped me pack on the weight.  When I was 10 I got my G-tube and basically I do a feed about 18 hours a day.  I have always been in diapers, part of my issues include spina bifida, which mainly affects my bladder and bowels.  You know one thing leads to another and I just never grew up.” Marcus said

“So how did you two meet?” I asked

“Well like I said, I just never grew up, my mom doted on me every step I took, I had to beg to be able to go to public school.  I had wanted to go to college, but she sewed so much doubt in my mind about moving out that I decided not to.  Seriously I think she would have still been changing my diapers had I not revolted. I had gotten in a diaper chat room and met daddy online, and we chatted for about a year before meeting the first time, he came to see me one weekend.  When my mom found out she hit the roof, yelling and arguing with me, she thought she could ground me. She took my phone, and blocked the internet.”

“He eventually got to the library and sent me an email.  I knew I had to get him out of there.  It took several months but we did it.  I had him stockpile his medical supplies in duffel bags and crates.  One day while his mom was gone at her ladies bible study, I swung by and we loaded up my old ford van and took off” Shawn said

“I left a note that said I am gone, I am leaving on my own choice, I’ll call you when I want to.  She did not like that, she had the police come and try to say I was kidnapped.  Which I was not!  Finally I had to threaten to press charges for harassment to make my mom stop.” Marcus said  “Daddy helped me get my license, then he got the camper and we hit the open road.  We’ve been together for almost 3 years now, I’ve been taking courses on web page design and applications.  We worked some work camping jobs, a couple worked out, a couple like that one did not.”

“So how did you two meet?” Shawn asked

I told him about me being a bedwetter, gay, getting kicked out, winning the lottery, traveling for 8 months and then taking a cruise and meeting Max, getting babied by Max on the cruise, and then him and I hitting the road together as a couple.

“So the same Tim and Sandy that help you, kicked you out for being gay, and you still are civil to them?” Shawn asked, confused how I could ever forgive them.

“Honestly it was a different time, and mindset back then.  I never really cut ties with my mom, but my dad and I had not spoken for like 8 years.  I won’t ever let it happen again, but I can forgive him.” I said

“Yeah my parents were even more confused by what I did.  My folks are very conservative Christians, like church every Sunday, Wednesday night, bible study on Tuesday type.  I explained that while I was not gay, I am not interested in anybody but Jason, and it is strictly caring for him only, being his daddy.”

“That is good to hear, Daddy and I are like that too, he just wants me to be little and a good boy,” Marcus said.

We hung out around the campfire for a bit, before Shawn and Marcus said it was getting late and Marcus needed to be in bed soon.

We had talked about getting golf carts or side-by-sides for each work pair this year, so no time like now to get Shawn and Marcus their’s.

“Hey before you go, let’s go over to the garage.” I said as we walked over to the garage.  “This is a big property, and you all need to have an easy way to get from your camp sites to all areas of the park, so we got work carts. So you two got the John Deere Gator over here” I said as I opened the garage.

“Really, so these are for us to keep at our campsites?” Shawn said  “Most places just have one cart that is on it’s last leg, one place we had to use our own vehicles after the golf cart broke and they would not fix it.”

“Yep, it should be easier that way, especially once we open the new area, we will have one of you working this area, so somebody would move their camper over here.  Depending on if you want to, that could be you two.” Max said

“I got a great deal on the gators, just take care of it, we have a fueling area behind the garage in the main section.  There is also tarps up at the other garage that you can use to cover it if it rains.”

The Wednesday morning all 6 of our work campers along with the 3 locals who were working this season met up in the office around 11 am.  I had filled mom in on Marcus’ medical stuff, and that day he showed up with his small backpack with his feeding tube hooked up, obviously he had a little diaper bulge that I noticed.

This morning was more boring stuff, we went over all the policies, rules, time keeping etc that we had.  We got everybody setup on the time clock, got the schedules printed starting on Friday morning at 9 am.

The goal was to have both people in the couple working the same hours, and have the same days off. The same days off was a must, and the same hours was pretty much doable with maybe the shifts being an hour or two off.

Max and I had brought over 2 more utility vehicles that morning, and him and dad got 2 more before we ended the training at 2 PM. Vehicles were distributed the other two couples and 2 more were parked at the office.

Dad and Max were busy with the contractors at the new section.  The final plumbing, and sewer inspections were today and tomorrow was electrical

Thursday was everybody’s off day, except mom, dad, max and I.  We had final inspection for the electricity that day.  The plumbing and sewer passed with flying colors the day before.

It was said the electrical inspector was really tough,  but luckily we would pass with flying colors as well.  This is what happens when you hire good contractors.

Passing the inspections mean that we would now be able to open the new section, which I called Rocking Horse Acres.  Since we had no clue when it would open, it is not listed on the reservation website.  We still had a few things left to do, like setup the wifi hotspots, ethernet, and finalize the cable service setup.  We got the fiber optic connection installed, we started with a 1 gbps speed right now with the ability to get more.  I had the IT techs out that next week to install the equipment and get it running.

We had designed each spot to be a pull through spot by making the loops be an inner and outer loop with a large green area in the middle for gatherings.

The lodge was not going to be available that year for use at all. We were still receiving shipments for stuff for the lodge, which was stacking up in the lodge and workshop.  That was a total off-season project. The lodge was completely painted, all we needed was furniture assembled. Dad had stopped by Shawn and Marcus’s trailer Thursday evening to check it out, as Shawn had invited him.  Dad really loved the little camper, which is small enough to tow with his F-150.  I must say I liked it too. Having drove the big RV’s and often times not being able to camp in certain places like some of the small campgrounds.  I also was getting tired of having the two RV’s and put my older one up for sale, which I listed almost everywhere local, state, and regional, and nationwide.

Ch. 33 – Dad’s Secret Project

My dad had called and wanted to know if Max and I would be available that Saturday to help him deliver some stuff he had made to a customer.  He said it was up near where Max’s parents live, which I said was cool, as it gave us a chance to get up there and see them.  Sadly when I called Maria to see if they were free, she said they were busy in the morning but should be free later around 4 PM, well I guess after getting done with dad’s stuff we can mess around and kill a few hours.

We were going to meet at my parent’s house at 8 AM so we could load the truck and then drive there. Dad needed help unloading the truck and setting it up and then we were free to do what we wanted to do.

Saturday arrived and we get to dad’s and he has everything on cardboard and shrink wrapped up, I wasn’t sure what it was, but it was big.  Dad said it was a bed frame, but there was more to it than a headboard, footboard and bed frame.  Nevertheless we helped him load it up.

I asked him where we were going to and he just said follow him, and if we get lost we can meet up at the grocery store.  That was strange, you want us to follow you for 90 minutes but won’t give an address.

We get into Max’s town and pass the grocery store, and then continue a way we have went many times, this is going towards Carl and Maria’s…. OK maybe it’s somebody near their house.

We continued down the road and finally dad stopped at Carl and Maria’s and backed into the drive way.

“What did dad build for your folks?” I asked Max

“No clue, nobody said anything. It’s like this whole thing has been hush hush” Max said, beginning to wonder what is going on.

We got out of the Jeep and walked up to dad.  “So why the secrecy about this all”

“Well because somebody does not know what they got, it’s a surprise, so radio silence” Dad said

Just then Carl came out of the house. “So this was the best help you could find Tim?”

“Hey you know good help hard to find, gotta take what you can get.” Dad said

“Lets get this stuff in the house” Dad said as he pointed to the stuff in his truck.

We loaded everything into the house and began to unwrap it.  Slowly I realized what it was, though I kinda had a hunch when we loaded it up. This was a very large project and as we started unwrapping it, it was more than just one.

“Where’s mom and the twins and Maggie?” Max asked

“Well your mom and the boys left yesterday morning to go to Chicago with the school, and won’t be back until like 5pm today. Maggie is staying at Michael and Sarah’s till tomorrow.  I got the other beds down pretty much as soon as they left for school, and got the painting done as quick as I could, put the second coat on last night, so it should be dry.”

“Ok you two the blue taped parts are unit 1, green is number 2.  Start with the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 first.” Dad directed

Slowly the furniture came to life.  “So they don’t know they are getting these?  I could see David wanting this, but you think Riley will go for this?”

“Well David had asked for one ever since he saw yours.  I also heard about Riley sleeping in the RV crib (how?), and one day while David was at Will’s house I caught Riley in David’s bed with the rails on it.  Let’s not mention that other than school he has been in diapers more often.  David has decided that he was going to wear to wear all the time and that included school too” Carl said

“Oh Fuck!  I thought I told him specifically not to do that, as it is literally social suicide in high school.” I said

“Well he tried to be discrete and not get caught, but last week somebody found out.  He has taken it all in stride.  He just doesn’t care, if people make fun of him he just laughs it off, and they won’t mess with him too much, as they don’t want to mess with Riley.  I called the school the next morning after he came home and said he was found out.  Let’s just say the school is well aware that we won’t put up with bullying” Carl said as we finished up.

It took a couple hours, but the last screw was put and it was time to get it all ready.  We got the beds made with about 90 minutes to spare.

“Well our work is done here. You two wanna move your jeep so I can get out of here?” Dad said as he packed up his tools.

Max went out and moved the Jeep to let dad out and then came back in to get me.

“Ok, so we are going to run and get pizzas and come back, by then your brothers should be home.  You mom said that they were just passing through Decatur, and then had to drop the other kids in her group at the school and will be home in about 30 minutes.” I said

We ran out and got the pizzas and got back right as Maria pulled up.

“Anybody order Pizza?” Max yelled as I grabbed the pizza from the back.

“Max, Jason” David yelled and ran over to us, followed by Riley.

“Nice Jeep, what made you come up here? We just got back from Chicago.” Riley said

“Well we missed your 16th birthday so we thought we would come up here and surprise you.  Let’s get inside, go grab your bags.” I said

“Just leave your bags in the front room, let’s eat before it gets cold” Maria said as she ushered everybody into the kitchen where paper plates were awaiting.

“So you just could not hold him back from buying a new car could ya?” Maria said to Max

“I tried the best I could, he wore me down.  I made him sell the cobalt, which sold really quick too” Max said

“OK, time for you two’s last birthday gift.  This has been in the works for awhile now.  Your mom and I hope that you like and appreciate it” Carl said

“Your surprise is in the room you two shared for years, and Riley we know that since Josh moved out this past fall you have been staying the night in your old room with David.  Hope you like what we did” Maria said as she had the boys open the door and turn on the lights.

As soon as the lights turned on it showed the very soft baby blue paint on the walls, and two twin sized cribs against opposite walls.   It took them both a moment to realize what they got.  David was the first who said something, it was quiet.

“For me?” Was all David said

“Yes baby for you” Maria said

“But you and daddy said no” He replied

“I know but we wanted to surprise you, we had been working on this since before the summer” Carl said

“But why one for me?” Riley inquired

“I’ve caught you in Davids old bed with the sides up more than once, you think I don’t know what happens around here, like how I am washing more cloth diapers with an R on them than I ever used to, or that you crinkle all weekend, or that you run straight to your room as soon as you get home some days.” Maria said. “I also have a pretty good handle on how many diapers are being used and how often I need to order them and who’s I am ordering”

“Now you both have the other bedroom that Riley shared with Josh, it has 2 twin beds in there too, so you can pass it off as your room if you need to.  I have one last project that comes in this week, a smart lock for the door to keep prying eyes out.” Carl said

“What about Mags?” David asked

“Well that is up to you two to tell her, but she’s pretty smart and will figure it out” Maria said.

“I’m guessing this one is mine?” Riley said pointing to the one that had the padding on the inside.

“Just in case you have a seizure, it can be removed if you need it to be.” Maria said.

The conversation was boring David who had already went over to his crib and was checking out how it worked.  It was simple, the rails were a two piece system, one flips up the other flips down, a spring loaded latch that can be locked open so the latch on the other end can be opened as well was on each of the railing sections.  Then there is a latch on the post of the bed to keep the top rail section flipped up.

David climbed into the crib and pulled the bottom rail up and then pulled the top rail down, effectively locking himself into the crib.    “Yep, this is what I needed” David said.

“Go ahead and hop in Riley, see how you like it.” Carl said planting a gentle smack to Riley’s diapered butt.  Prompting him to move closer to the crib.

“Does it need both rails?” He asked as he climbed in.

“Nope, top rail can be removed, little latches right here, but you will need a second hand to do it, or get crafty.” I said

“Why don’t you two get changed if you need to, then unpack your bags and put your dirty clothes in the hamper and bring them to the laundry room.  Then you can either come out and watch TV or go to bed for the night” Maria said

We all left the room and went back out to the kitchen and talked for a bit.  The twins were back and forth getting their bags and stuff.  Finally the hamper rolled down the hallway, through the kitchen and to the basement door as a well padded Riley carried it down the stairs.  David came out with a small bag from the diaper pail and put it out in the large trash can in the garage before walking back into the house.

“Ok, I got the trash out, Riley took the laundry to the basement and is starting it. We got our clothes put away, is there anything else we need to do?” David asked Maria

“No honey, thank you two for getting those things done” Maria said as Riley had came up from the basement.

“Brought this up so you didn’t need to” Riley said as he set the clothes basket full of cloth diapers, onsies and such.

“Bring them here and then you two go get something for dessert, we got ice cream in the freezer” Maria said as she started folding the laundry.

The boys ended up dishing out ice cream for everybody and we played a game of cards before we had to head back home.  I was out like a light before we got even 20 miles down the road.

After we left, Riley and David went back to their room.

“Don’t ever speak of this to anybody outside of this house, or I’ll deny it forever and throw you to the wolves.”  Riley said to David.

“Fair enough, I know you want to keep it quiet, and I appreciate you standing up for me. I know that you must have gotten shit for me wearing diapers.” David said

“Yeah, but you’re my brother and it’s my job to defend you.  Plus in some strange way I do actually enjoy this stuff. It just keeps me happy and secure.” Riley said as he climbed into his crib and tried to get the rail up.

David walked over and folded the railing up  and the top railing down.  “Night night brother, love you”

“You too” Riley replied

“Alexa turn the lights down for bed with a timer for 1 hour” David issued to the Alexa and got a confirmation and the lights dimmed very low.

Both of the teenagers lay in their cribs that night and reflected on how they got to this point.  Riley wondered why he was on some level content with this, wondering if he would always be like this; to which his mind wondered to what he would do if it was ever found out, then it went back to the overwhelming feeling of being safe.  He was safely and snuggly pinned into his diapers, and confined in his crib.

David on the other had was wondering if he was confident enough to be out about his diapers and worried that at sometime he may need to stop all this and grow up.  Growing up, that’s what scared him the most.

After what felt like an eternity, but was more like 20 minutes, both drifted off to sleep.

The morning sun creeped around the blackout curtains of what shall now be know as the twins’ nursery.  David was the first awake, but he quietly lay there savoring the moment with his stuffed animal.  He looked over, but could not see if Riley was yet awake as the padded bumper around the bottom rail obscured his view, so he just laid there quietly until he heard movement and saw Riley sit up.

“hey you awake?” Riley whispered  “What time is it? So do we have to wait for mom or dad to let us out?”

“Alexa what time is it?” David said barely above a whisper.

Quietly alexa said “the time is 8:14 am”

“You can open it up yourself” David said

“How?”

“Where the rails meet on each end there is a little wooden knob. Slide it towards the center and then down, like a sideways J” David said

“ok on both rails right?” Riley asked

“Yes, then the top rail folds all the way up and latches, you almost got it” David said as Riley pushed the top folding rail up and heard a click. Followed by lowering the bottom rail.

Riley then walked over to David’s crib and opened the side of it for him.  “Wet night for you too?”

“Every night, looks the same for you.” David replied as he swung his legs over the side and hopped out.

They both waddled to the kitchen where Carl was making breakfast of oatmeal and toast. “We’re going to church this morning, so eat up and get showered, shaved and changed.  Your mom is getting ready”

Both made up their oatmeal, put jelly on their toast and got a glass of juice.  They were about done when their mom came out to the kitchen and sat down.

“Good morning, did you both sleep ok?” Maria asked

“Um Hum, yef” David said while taking a bite of his toast.

“Great, now when you are done, go get shaved and showered and then dressed for church” She said

Both boys finished at the same time and got up from the table and waddled off towards their room, stopping at the linen closet to grab towels and wash cloths.

Both stood at the sink in just diaper and plastic pants and shaved what little stubble they had before hopping into separate shower stalls.  They emerged and headed to the nursery where they both got diapered back up.

At this point Riley realized he had no clothes in the nursery, just diapers; so he crinkled out of the nursery down the hall to the bedroom that he used to occupy.  He grabbed some nice dockers and a button up shirt before heading back to the nursery and finished getting dressed.

“So you wearing to church?” David inquired

“Might as well, not like anybody really notices as long as you don’t flaunt it” Riley said as he pulled his pants up over a plain white onsie and grabbing a polo and heading to the living room. David followed shortly after attired the same way, carrying his (diaper) backpack

Out the door to the van they went.  Halfway down the road Maria said “So Riley, you decided to wear a diaper today?  That’s fine, but you may need some bigger pants if you plan to do it often” She said

They got through church without much of an incident, Riley was quick to get in and get a seat and stay there.  Michael and his wife Sarah brought Maggie with them to church. After church they all went into Decatur for Sunday dinner.

Before they left Maria asked either of them if they needed to go to the bathroom before they left, code for ‘do you need to change your diapers?’.

They both replied no, which was a lie, but David was already somewhat wet, and riley had slowly been releasing a pee.  “Ok, well we are going to be driving, so you need to make sure you can hold up till we get back home in a few hours.” Maria said, to which both boys acknowledged

However probably an hour into driving Riley was looking a bit worried.  “Can we stop somewhere I need to change. David did you bring spares?”

“Yeah I got about 4” He replied.

Carl pulled off the highway and found a truck stop.  “Ok, both of you should probably change” he said as he pulled into a spot and both boys got out with David carrying his backpack.

Riley went in first with the backpack.  He was not used to changing outside of the house often, but eventually got the job done.  He came out and threw away his sodden diaper as David entered the stall.  David was more adept at changing his diaper anywhere.

As they climbed back into the van, David asked “So, where are we going?”

“Just for a drive, your mom and I are looking about something.” Carl said

Soon enough they pulled up to a house and it became clear, their parents were looking for a pull-behind trailer.  It was no where as big as the RV max and Jason toured around in, even the old one, just enough for a double bed, 2 bunks and a sofa bed.  Carl and Maria looked it over well to see if any work needed done, any signs of water damage or anything and Carl said that they would take it.  He would be back down the next day with a cashier’s check if they could do the title and paperwork then.  It was small enough that they could pull the camper with the family van, but would be better served by Carl’s F-250

The ride back home was full of talk about trips they could take, what they wanted to do, etc… at some point each of the children dozed off only to awaken when they arrived home.

That night played out much the same as the previous night, with tomorrow being a school day both were in bed by 9:30 pm, a rule that Carl and Maria always enforced unless it was due to an activity or job.

The next morning they both got ready for school, with Riley thinking about wearing a diaper but deciding not to at the last moment.  Someday that may change, but that day wasn’t today.

The next day Carl got the new lock for the boy’s room in.  The lock could be undone with a code, or an electronic key on their watch or phones.

Eventually curiosity killed the cat, and Maggie asked why the room had a lock.  Her parents simply said that the boys want to have their privacy and she was not to go in there unless invited.

That Friday David was having his friend will coming over, so the plan was that Riley would stay in his normal room, and Will could stay in the other crib in the nursery, which was agreed upon early that week.

Friday rolled around and Riley cleared out what little stuff he kept in the nursery, mainly his stuffed animal, and the few cloth diapers and clothes that he kept in there.  Will came home on the bus with David and Riley, and pretty much as soon as they entered the house David went to his nursery with Will, and emerged two obviously diapered boys.

Riley did not want to tip off that he wore more than at night, so he did not diaper up until bedtime.

The next afternoon when Will’s parents came to pick him up it was all normal teenager attire again, as Will’s parents did not know that will liked to wear and would wear around David and Riley only. So it went for most weeks, Riley spent most nights in his crib, some nights with just the bottom rails closed, some nights he was fully closed in. Other nights he decided he wanted the solitude of being in his ‘grown up room’, though he was still diapered at night, as he needed it.  Some days he would come home and get straight into a diaper, staying in them until he had to get ready for school, including weekends.  Other days he would just wear solely at night.

Ch. 32 – Back to the normal (as close to normal as it gets) Life

As the winter turned to spring, it was time for more adventure.  The Fiat had gotten us around well, but after that trip  to Hawaii and renting the Jeep, I must have one.

“So I know we talked about getting a Jeep, but what are you going to do with the other two cars? You have two already.” Max said

“Well we talked about gifting the Cobalt to Riley and David, do you think that would go over well with them sharing it?” I asked

“I don’t know, mom said neither of them started Driver’s Ed yet, and she was not sure that Riley could even get his permit with his epilepsy. I sometimes wonder if they want to drive or not.  I will say they do get along better than they ever used to. If you had asked me 4 years ago, it would have been a quick No, but now they get along so much better.”

“I mean if your folks don’t want them to have it, I’ll sell either the cobalt or the Fiat, or both” I said as I looked back from my computer desk that I had been sitting at for a couple hours getting some final editing photos and videos before starting the uploads.  Those will take close to 8 hours to upload, so I left my Mac alone and grabbed the MacBook and moved to the sofa with Max.  It was barely 1:00 pm at this point.

As soon as I sat down, Max got up and went to the kitchen and came back.  As soon as he sat down he grabbed the MacBook from me, and closed it up. “You’ve had enough screen time today.” He said as he pulled me into a laying position in his lap; followed shortly by the nipple of the bottle of chocolate milk being put in my mouth.  I just lay there and sucked my bottle while Max slowly stroked my hair.

I must have dozed off, as I awoke to max lifting me up off his lap and replacing his lap with a pillow as he got up and went to the bathroom.

When he came back he said “Whew, I thought you would wake up sooner, sorry to wake you but I had to go.  Your mom texted and invited us over for dinner, meatloaf night.  I told her we would be there, so somebody needs his pants changed, and a shower.” Max said as he pinched his nose and directed me to the bathroom where he already had a towel out, and my bath stuff ready.

He reached into the shower and started to fill the bathtub and squirted some bubble bath in, before turning to me and starting to undress me like a toddler; leaving me standing there in a pair of printed plastic pants and a cloth diaper.  He made quick work of stripping me from my diaper before lifting me into the awaiting bathtub.

A bath is such a treat, as I always have to shower when we are on the road, as most places like the RV do not have a bathtub.  After playing for awhile, Max came in and grabbed the handheld shower wand and started the water and then proceeded to wash my hair before having me stand up so he could rinse me off and have me step out into the awaiting towel.

I was soon dried off and led back to the nursery where a diaper awaited me, which max got me all lotioned, powdered and diapered up before grabbing a cute outfit that I had just gotten in the mail.

“OK, get what you need to show your parents the photos packed up, and I’ll get your diaper bag packed, and start a load of your diapers in the washer.” Max said as I hopped off the changing table and waddled to the living room to pack my MacBook and the hard drive that had the edited files on it, before checking the progress of the file upload, still 5 more hours to go.

We drove the 10 minutes to my folks place and mom was waiting on us as we came up the driveway.  “Aww don’t my little boy look so cute” she said which made me blush.

“Ok I got meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans, and for dessert a cherry pie” She said.

“Where’s dad?” I asked

“Oh in his workshop working on another project” She said

Just then I noticed that at the kitchen table was a portable high chair like I had in the RV.  “Did you get that out of the RV?” I asked

“No, your dad built a couple extras, and this is the one for here.” She said

“Ok…” I thought, thinking that they are embracing this stuff a little too much, but what the hey.

Dad came in for dinner and we all sat down.  I sat in the high chair, as I assumed that is where I was expected to eat.  Though I was allowed to eat like an adult, but I still had a bib on and the tray was fastened in place.

“So what ya been working on lately?” I asked dad, wondering what his next project was.

“Oh you know top secret stuff, spice racks, shelves, and the whatnot” He said.

“Uh huh sure” I said smiling, knowing that he was up to something.

“Might need your two’s help in a week or so loading up the truck and taking this stuff to the customer.  In between checking on the progress at the campground.  The workshop is all up, wired and heated.  The lodge should be ready this summer, they just need to finish the insides, then it is time for furniture; which with all the projects you have going on out there, I have no time to make.” He said

“We will find some and buy some if needed” I said “No biggie”

The rest of the small talk over dessert was us talking about the trip, showing some photos and videos.  Then it turned to playing cards, skip-bo.  After the second game I was getting tired, but those 3 were still going. So I went to the living room and laid on the couch and watched some tv, which quickly turned into me falling asleep.

Next thing I remember is a finger slipping into my plastic pants and feeling my diaper.  “Oh I think he will hold until we get home” I heard and then felt myself picked up, to which I wrapped my arm around the neck and my legs around the body of Max as he carried me out to the car.

I remember being put on the changing table and getting changed and then put in my crib, next thing I realized it was the morning.  I knew it was morning as I smelled coffee.  Even though the door was shut to the nursery the smell of coffee permeates the air.  I just rolled over and hugged my teddy bear some more, knowing that Max would come get me when he was good and ready.  I smiled because I knew that those around me cared for me and I was truly loved.  I think I fell back asleep, as I awoke as max opened the door and unlatched the crib.

“Hey there sleepy head, did you have a nice sleep?” He said as he tussled my hair.  “Let’s get you some breakfast and then get you changed.  You wanted to go look at Jeeps today.  Remember we are LOOKING not buying, understand?”

“Yes Daddy, I understand.  I knew he was looking out for me, and making sure his little one obeyed and did not get taken for a ride.

When I went to the kitchen he had the tray off the high chair, sitting it on the counter.  I climbed up and assumed my position awaiting breakfast, a bottle of chocolate milk (I wanted coffee) and oatmeal and a banana cut up.  Max insisted I wear a bib as he fed me my breakfast before cleaning my messy face up and directing me to the nursery where he had me up on the changing table and changed with ease and we were ready to go.

Luckily he allowed me to dress somewhat normal.  Granted I still had a plain onesie under my polo shirt and jeans.  Off to the local dodge dealer we went.  I perused the various models and options.  We priced out what we wanted and got a quote.  Then we moved onto the next lot, this time looking in the used market before heading into the big city to check the other dodge dealers for prices on what we wanted.

I swear that buying a new vehicle is one of the hardest things to do, it is so much easier buying other goods… it seems they all want to talk you into things you don’t want or need.  Like proximity door locks, which we did not want due to the security risk.  Basically if the vehicle will be able to be unlocked anytime the keys are within range by just pulling on the door handle that will be a problem, as we are in a 32 foot RV, the keys are almost always in range.

We got all the paperwork to look over and  think about.  Thank God I gave them all my google voice # that screens calls, as they were blowing up my phone for the next days.

We decided to work with the local dealer, they were a little cheaper, and we were able to work them down a lot.  Sadly their finance manager almost cried when I turned down everything they offered and then pulled out the trust checkbook and paid cash. We ended up buying a hydra blue 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Got the soft top and the 3-piece removable hard top too.

Max didn’t know it at the time but I had seen him eyeballing a used 2018 wrangler.  We had looked at it and it checked all the boxes he had.

“Max, You need a vehicle of your own, you’ve been so good to me these past years, and you don’t have a vehicle of your own.  How about you get that green one you were looking at, we can finance it for a year or so, I’ll set up the payments and then after that time pay it off.  But it would be in your name and yours.” I said, being impulsive.

“No baby, daddy is just happy being with you, he don’t need shiny things to keep him happy.” He said

Now to figure out what to do with the other 2 cars.  We had talked it over and decided to sell the cobalt for what we could, so I put a for sale sign on it, and put an ad in the local classifieds paper.  It sold within 5 days for what I was asking.  Goodbye old friend.

Ch. 31 – Our big world wide vacation, and time for more adventure.

Like the last two years, Max and I went to the east coast ABDL convention.

I loved the time i had there, being able to play all day and make new friends. We had been tossing around the idea of closing off the new campground area and doing a campout for some ABDL friends sometime that summer. I got contacts for people in the community that could help spread the word.

Max and I also talked to a few business owners about their products and services. How to grow their business as well enhance our investments.

Daddy made some more daddy and mommy friends as well, there was even a social event for them, and activities for them too. Finally Daddy had some friends who understand the choice he made to be my caregiver.

We were gearing up for a new adventure. Max and I had spent much of the summer planning the trip.  When we got back from the convention, I had the RV winterized, cleaned out and covered up.

We stuck around until Christmas and New Years, and then set out on our journey on January 2nd; to start off 2021.

My parents gained a new pet for a few months while we were gone.  Mom said Zorro liked being there and I may not get him back.

Max and I decided to fly to Hawaii for a couple weeks, then onto the land down under.  The plan was to be gone for about 2.5 months.  We reserved some nice properties in Hawaii and Australia, wonderful views of the beaches and oceans, with destinations all over the islands.

I actually had to pair down the computer and camera gear that I took with me, never the less we shipped the stuff we really needed ahead of us.  The stuff we needed in Australia was shipped before we even left for Hawaii via cargo.

Hawaii was so breathtaking and awe inspiring.  The sunrises and sunsets were so amazing. We spent days driving around the islands in a jeep with the top off, relaxing on the beaches, hiking and so much more. We toured around to about everywhere we could.

We ended up staying for almost 3 weeks before packing up all our stuff and hopping on another plane and landing in the Fiji Islands where we toured for 2 weeks.  We relaxed on the beach, toured the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, Sand dunes, waterfalls, and all the many islands.  Next stop was Sydney Austrailia.

It was a good thing we got to Sydney when we did, as I was running low on diapers.  Max wanted to go to the Sydney Opera House, we toured the opera house that first morning, then that evening we saw RENT.  We saw Sydney harbor at night and I got some awesome photos with the opera house.   We travelled around Australia for a couple weeks. The entire time I was dressed like a young child or toddler.  I did not care if anybody gave me looks or said anything to me.

We flew to some other island nations like Singapore and Thailand, kept the ABDL stuff on the down low before returning to London UK

In London we ate well, dining on the local fare. We visited Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, of course the Harry Potter Warner Brothers tour.  We did a whole day guided tour seeing Big Ben, the Tower Bridge, and even a cruise on the Thames River.  In the evenings we would visit a local pub and try some of the local beers and spirits.   We rented a car a couple days and just drove into the countryside and visited some small villages.

Finally daddy got me to ride on the London Eye, which was really high up and I will admit I got a little scared riding.

We took the train to France for a quick trip to Paris for a few days, saw the Eiffel Tower at night and ate enough butter and cheese laden food to clog any artery.

After that we headed back to London to catch a plane back to NYC and then back to Columbus.

I was so happy to crawl into my crib that first night home.  I don’t think I was awake even 5 minutes after Max got me changed and in the crib.

Keep in mind that for almost all this travel while we could have went first class, I have the money… We flew economy, we would rather have spent the money on the experiences than on travel.

We chilled out for almost 2 weeks, literally, as we had a major freak snow storm that late March into April.   I also had some major work to do in the department of editing photos and videos.  I had close 60 hours of videos and well over 3,000 photos to go through. Granted much of it could be culled down to what is useful, then it just had to be edited and assembled; which took time.

Ch. 30 – Out west with Max’s family

After the Chicago event, we stopped back home to check on things, get supplies, maintenance for everything.  We also discussed some plans to vacation with Max’s parents and siblings.

After discussing it, and making sure that all who wanted to go, could take the time together.  Michael was off at college, Josh was working at the grocery store and as a life guard at the local pool, so neither of them would be coming, so  it would be Carl, Maria, Maggie and the twins David and Riley.

Max’s parents would be taking the other RV while my folks would stay at the campground in the cabin when they wanted to stay out there.

The old RV would have room enough for the 5 of them, it would be tight, but would sleep them all, they would just have to put the dinette down.  They would follow us out to Colorado to the Rocky Mountain National Park, where the plan was to visit for a few days, maybe a week.  Max and I said they could take as long as they wanted traveling with us or not.

The contractor had done the site prep for a 50×50 foot metal building on the new land and were starting to pour footers the beginning of April and the building should be up in a few weeks. Then a concrete floor, electric and plumbing next.  This would be the first building on the new land, and would be used for lots of stuff.  First as a construction office for the rest of the group camping area, storage for materials, a work shop, a place to store things like 4 wheelers, tractors and trucks.

The first of May we left the house.  Max and I had reserved some time in a few state parks in western Ohio and Indiana for 3 weeks to kill some time before the kids were out of School.  This would probably be the last summer that Riley and David would want to be with their parents doing stuff, being 15 and all.  Since they started Kindergarten late when they were 6, they would be freshmen when they go back to school in the fall.

The kids got out of school on a Thursday, that Wednesday afternoon, Max and I drove the fiat back to my place to get the other RV.  We dropped it off at his parents for them to load up their stuff Wednesday night.

Thursday Max and I went over to help Maria pack their stuff into the RV.   The nice thing about  the old RV is that it had a lot of storage underneath and over the cab; which is good because Maria had two plastic totes full of diapers, looks like it will be a great time for one or both of the twins.   As we were loading the RV, the school bus came lumbering up the road.  Off first was Maggie, then David and Riley.

I could tell something was up with them.  “I can’t believe you did that, why would you wear those to school.  Now. People are going to think I do too”, Riley said

“Well because I wanted to, and the last time I checked, you were still wearing them at night too, which is totally fine if you need or even if you want them.  It’s not like we are going to see them for 3 months, plus we are the oldest in our class” David said..

“I know, and i’ll defend you through anything.   It’s not like we are going to see them for a month or so, but did you have to moon them?” Riley asked David

“I didn’t have to, but it was funny, and will keep them wondering for a bit” David said

“David James, did you wear a diaper to school after I specifically told you not to?  Well don’t come crying to me if it blows up in your face.” Maria said, a little pissed that he disobeyed her.

Not wanting any of this to fall on him, Riley made it clear that he told his brother that it was a horrible idea.

The boys finished packing the RV, as Carl wanted to be able to head out in the morning.  Though not too early.

We had parked for the night at the grocery store and would swing by their house in the morning.  Carl did not want to tow a vehicle so the only tow vehicle we would have is the Fiat, but if we needed to get a bigger vehicle we could for a week.

The next morning Max woke me up and changed me, we unplugged the RV and ran through the checklist to leave and headed to his parent’s house. They were up and ready, Maria was making breakfast sandwiches on paper plates for everybody.

Riley and David walked out of their rooms in just a onsie and diaper. I could tell both were in disposables and both were quite soggy.  They sat down and drank some juice and ate their sandwiches.

Maria was running around making sure they had packed everything and was getting stuff ready to leave.  “David, Riley go get your diapers changed and get ready to go. Riley remember what we talked about last night, I expect you to be padded up just in case you fall asleep.  Also make sure you take your meds before we leave.  I packed all your extras too.” She said to Riley as he walked out of the room.

Both returned about 10 minutes later obviously still diapered beneath their shorts.

“Mom can I ride with Max and Jason?” David asked

“If it’s ok with them” Carl pipped in

“Fine with us” Max said

We left around 9:00 am, not as early as Carl would have liked, but still we should make good time.  We set a CB channel for both of us and made sure the CB’s worked and on the road we were.

After I got the destination and first stop in the GPS I hopped in the back where David was sitting.  “So your brother did not seem like he cared about having to wear on the trip did he?” I asked wondering why Maria would have him wear.

“No, mom asked him to wear while driving in case he fell asleep, and he really said he did not care if he needed to wear them, he was fine with it.  Between you and me, I think on some level he likes to wear them too.  I mean he started wetting after he started seeing this counselor lady.  He likes to claim that since the doctor upped or changed his epilepsy meds it was causing it.  But hey, he’s no longer a jerk to me, in fact we get along better than ever” David said

We rolled down the road and I hopped back up front to navigate, when I turned back, David was asleep on the sofa.

Max drove for 3 hours and then we stopped off, switched drivers and drove another 3 hours.  Stopped for food, rested for an hour and drove for another 3 till we found a stopping spot and pulled off for the night.  David asked if he could stay with us, and we gladly allowed it.  This allowed the other RV to not have to tear down the dinette.  Riley even asked if he could stay with us too.

“As long as you two are able to fit up top or one on the sofa. Either way it is bed time.” Max said as he directed me to the back of the RV to change me.

“So what did you decide?” I asked, inquiring about how the sleeping arrangements were going to go.

“I think we both can fit up top” Riley said, “plus it’s not like either one of us are going to get up in the night.”

He had a point there.  One by one they went to the back bedroom and got changed. Riley took his meds before They both climbed up to the bunk and we went to our bedroom for the night.

I am an early riser, so I was up at 7:00am, and woke up Max to get a change.  Max grabbed the stuff to setup for the picnic tables outside between our campsites, while I clanged around in the kitchen to awaken the two sleeping teenagers.

About 8:00 Max went to the other RV and knocked on the door, “Breakfast is ready”

“Ok, just a minute” his dad replied back

I had made enough for all of us, scrambled eggs, bacon and toast.  His parents brought the coffee since they already had a pot made.  I had the juice and milk.

Without even thinking about it, David and Riley stumbled out of the bunk and outside in just their onsies.  Nobody said a thing, as if it were normal.

We ate quickly, and cleaned up and got the RVs ready to take off.  The teens were still looking sleepy, but I had to tell them that the bunk had to be put up so we could pull out.

“If you still want to sleep, you can go to the back bedroom and sleep there. Maybe get changed if you are really wet too.” I said as both boys were still in their night diapers.

I then did a final walk around and let Carl know that we were ready to hit the road.  We were on the road by 9:30.

David went into the bedroom and got himself changed and returned to the sofa, and then Riley said he was getting changed too and went to the back and did not come out.  After he did not emerge, I went to the back to see if there was something wrong and what I found was kinda shocking.

I first looked at Max’s bed which is the one right inside the door, but he wasn’t there.  He hadn’t disappeared into thin air.  I then looked over to my crib and see the blanket covering up a sleeping 15 year old Riley. I could hear him quietly snoring, so I quietly backed out of the room.  Now my curiosity was definitely peaked. Why was he in the crib?

I went back out front.  “Where’s Riley?” David asked.

“He decided to go back to sleep, just leave him alone.  If you want to doze off out here on the sofa you can” I said, not letting on that I had just witnessed Riley in the back in the crib.

I went back up to the front, but not before whispering in Max’s ear that Riley was asleep in the crib.

“Huh?” He said

“I dunno, should we leave it be, do you think he had an episode.” I said, telling Max not to tease him about it.

After an hour David was dozed off, and Riley had still not emerged.  We waited another hour before stopping for a rest break, at this point Riley had been sleeping over 2 hours.

I quietly slid into the bedroom, which was darkened due to the blinds being closed. I slid the door shut and then gently woke him up.  “Hey Riley, we’re going to be stopping soon, did you want to get up and get a snack. Did you have meds you need to take?” which I said a couple times.

When he woke up a look of terror came over him.  “Please don’t tell anybody…. I…. I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about, guess I dozed off” He said, but honestly how does one just try it out and end up covered up and snuggled in with MY TEDDY!

It’s ok, I just wanted to make sure you were ok, did you have a seizure or anything?  Max knows you were back here, but he won’t say anything and I kept David out of here too.” I said

“Seriously, I thought i’d see what the allure was, got in, covered up and I must have fallen asleep instantly.  I don’t think I had a seizure, I usually end up waking up crying and don’t sleep it off.  Holy crap it is 1:00 almost, that’s almost 3 hours”

“Yeah you slept for awhile, it was 2 hours since I first checked on you.  We’re stopping at a rest area to get out and stretch and eat some, better get out of there before David sees” I said as he had already sat up and I unlatched the gate.  I could tell he needed to get changed as well.

I left the bedroom and he followed shortly in what I assumed was a clean diaper. David went in and got himself changed as we pulled into the visitors center.  We grabbed our trash, including the quickly filling diaper pail, and got out and stretched as we disposed of the trash.

Maggie was happy to be out of the RV as were the teens.  Really I was glad to be out of the RV too.  It was nice to get into the sunshine.  We were in the middle of Nebraska, with nothing really around.  We got some subs out of the fridge and sat at the shelter house to eat.  After an hour we hit the road again, Max and I switched the driving duties.

We drove until about 5:30 before stopping at a McDonalds that we could park at.  We changed drivers, got some sandwiches and chicken nuggets before heading to our campground at a state park, we were a day earlier than expected.  We were tired and did not want to have to cook that night.

The next morning Carl and Maria cooked breakfast sandwiches before we set off.  We stopped along the way and rented a SUV to go into the park with.  We decided when we planned the trip to not stay in the national park, as their campgrounds do not have RV hook ups.

We pulled into Estes Park, found our campground and spots where we would camp for 4 days. We got leveled, hooked up, and slides out.

“Ok, ready to head into the park?” I said

“Almost ready, just packing some bags” Maria said

Max and I grabbed the yeti cooler and our 2 gallon drink dispenser. from the garage area that morning and had loaded it up with bags of ice.  We had filled the fridge with bottles of sports drinks, and juice boxes last night, so they were cool. Both RV’s have pretty good water filters, and we use water containers in the fridge too to always have fresh cold water.  We all had metal water containers that kept water cold all day.  My mom had put everybody’s name on their container with her vinyl cutter.  The last time I was out here I went through lots of water to stay hydrated.

Max filled the cooler with a layer of ice on the bottom, then I started tossing drinks to him as he put them in the cooler along with layers of ice.  Carl came over with some sandwiches for later on in water tight containers, which we put in the cooler and put some more ice on top.  Then they carried the cooler out and put it in the back of the SUV.

Max came back in as I was grabbing some more supplies for a picnic.  I had checked my camera bag and diaper bag to be sure I had all I needed.  One look from Max, and I knew it was time for a change or check, as I was marched to the bedroom.

After getting changed we headed out to the SUV and loaded the picnic supplies, while we put my diaper bag and camera bag in the Fiat.  We then just sat in our lawn chairs and waited for Max’s family to come out.

“Did you feed Zorro this morning?” Max asked

“No, did you?” I asked

“That is your job, then he does not weasel out two bowls of food from us” Max said, as he directed me to feed the kitty

The kitty was fed and now wanted nothing to do with me until he was done…. Fine be that way!

I came out and Carl and Maggie had emerged.  “She’s making sure that we got everything packed, bottle of water?” he said.

Shortly thereafter Maria and the two teens emerged.  I could tell that David was diapered, and Riley looked like he was as well.  I didn’t think he was going to be wearing unless he was at risk to fall asleep, but then again the bathrooms are kind of scarce and ‘rustic’ to say the least?

They loaded up in the SUV, and we in my Fiat and heading towards the park entrance.  We stopped at various turn-outs along the way to see the landscape and shoot photos.  Max’s family was amazed at the beauty of the national park.

Around noon the 2-way radio squaked to life.  “Gotta find a bathroom? Know where any are?” Maria said

“I think there is a picnic area up ahead on the right, there’s probably vault toilets there, not sure” I replied.

Since entering the park there was not cell phone service, not even for a text.  We pulled into the picnic area near the bathrooms.  I see Maggie open the back door and run towards the door, as maria followed her…. Both came out in a couple minutes.  Carl then went in, followed by Max.

Max came back to the car quickly looking like he was retching.  “Oh god, those are nasty.”  To which Maria, Maggie and Carl agreed.  The teens and I just laughed.  We moved to the picnic tables away from the toilet building, so we did not have to smell the stench emanating from there.

We got done eating and David and Riley were whispering to each other. “how are you” “I need to, but not in there they say it’s filthy” “I won’t last much more and don’t want to” “well ask her” “no you ask her”

“David, Riley, do you two need to get changed?” Maria broke into their conversation.

“Uh huh, but not in there” David said

“Yeah not wanting to do that in there either” Riley said

“Are either of you messy, or just wet”

“I am, sorry couldn’t wait longer” David said

“I am about to poop too” Riley said

“Well you have choices, either in the toilet in private, though it smells really bad.  Or in the back cargo area of the suburban and take your chances with other people seeing” Maria said

“I’m not going in there, so I guess the back of the car” David said

“Ugh, neither is a good idea, but I guess the back of the car” Riley said

I had a picnic/beach blanket ground cover called a neat sheet.  I also carry a bunch of magnets in the bag for it too.  We opened the hatch of the SUV and with Max’s help kinda set up a curtained off area for the cargo area.

David went first, since he had already messed, and then Riley after he finished messing.  Both diapers were bagged up and put in the trash.  It was at this point that Maggie made revelation.

“I now see why they wear diapers, that bathroom was nasty, next time I’ll think about just using my pull-up, rather than going in there.” Maggie said revealing that she had been in a pull-up.  Not sure how much of the trip, but could have been the entire trip so far.

We continued on further into the park towards Rainbow curve overlook… Which was another 90 minutes.  Sadly this year the snow lasted late in the year, and this was as far as we could go; the ranger said that they may have it opened tomorrow, as it was pretty much cleared.  Max, Maria and Carl got out to use the bathroom while Riley watched Maggie and David took photos.

“Maggie, do you need to go to the bathroom, it’s going to be several hours before we get back to the camper.  These bathrooms are better than the last ones” Maria said

“Do they flush?” Maggie wanted to know

“No, but they don’t smell as bad, c’mon let’s go” Maria said

“Uhm mommy, I….” Maggie said trailing off.

“Ok, let me get the bag” Maria said as she grabbed what I assumed was a diaper bag from the back of the SUV and then walked Maggie to the bathroom.  They returned several minutes later, to Maggie bouncing towards all of us.

“Better now sweetie” Carl said

“Uh huh” She replied

I had taken the chance at Rainbow Curve to get my diaper changed as well, which barely was hanging on at that point.

It was about 4:00 PM, we had been gone since shortly before 10:00 AM, and everybody was getting tired.  Based on how long it took us to get to where we were, it would be probably 2-3 hours back to the campground in Estes Park.  We decided to go back the same way we came so we could check an area that we skipped due to being too busy.  Otherwise, we could have come out another entrance and been closer to the campground.

Almost three quarters of the way back it started hailing and sleeting, which turned into a big rainstorm.  We discussed dinner plans, and decided to go out to eat.  The kids wanted to get pizza, Carl and Maria were looking for a good sit down dinner, maybe steak and burgers.  I could really use a good steak, Max said too.

As we entered the park we passed by a steak house, maybe that would be good.  I suggested that which everybody said was fine, but they wanted to go back to the campground first and get changed into some better clothes.

Max got me changed as soon as we walked in and then got into the shower himself.  While he was showering, I looked up some steakhouses and their menus.  One was the better choice since it had a wider menu.  We had to remember that Maggie still would want a kids meal, and not a big steak.

I had called the steak house so they knew we had 7 people, as it could be busy.  They said they would see us at 7:00 pm.  By 6:35 we all were dressed and ready, David had come over and used our back bedroom to get changed and dressed, since there were less people trying to get ready in our RV.

We all headed to the steak house in our respective vehicles.   I had asked if I was allowed to drink at dinner that night and Max said it was ok, but only 2 drinks and that was it, as he has heard I can’t hold my liquor.  It didn’t matter anyway, because when we got there I noticed that they had milkshakes on the menu, and being the kid that I am, that is what I ordered.

Oh my! That steak was so good, everybody loved the food they got too, yeah it was a little expensive, but we had been eating McD’s and basic food on the trip, it was nice to get a good meal.

We got back to the campground and sat around the campfire for a few hours, just talking and chatting. One by one the kids went off to bed, and soon it was my time to go to bed too Max said.

The plan the next day was to drive out to bear lake and go hiking around the lake.  The next morning we packed up our vehicles along with food for a picnic, and diaper bags and headed out.

The drive was only 15 miles but it took over an hour due to the twists and turns on the road and lower speed limits in the park.  Plus you know people stopping to take photos and stuff.

We arrived and got our walking gear out as this trail was paved.  We started walking and about half way around the lake I could see that both Riley and David had stopped for a moment to use their diapers.  However Maggie was looking worried and asked her mom where the bathroom was. To which her mom told her that it was back where the cars were parked, and she leaned down and they whispered something back and forth and they continued to walk, stopping once and looking at something and then staying to the back.

We made it back to the parking lot and everybody decided it was time to go to the bathrooms.  I needed a change, both twins, and to my surprise Maggie as well. I was not aware that Maria had her wearing the pullups, but she must have.

“We are quickly running out of those, I only packed enough for night time and the occasional accident, and you’ve gone through 2 at least each day since we’ve been here.” Maria said

“I can’t help it, there’s never a bathroom around and the ones there are, they are so gross.” Maggie said, getting upset

“Well we will need to go to wal-mart tomorrow and see if they have anything” Maria said.

We all ate the picnic lunch that we had, hydrated some more and then headed back down bear lake road to the main highway.  Since today was a nicer day we drove back up to Rainbow Point and on over the mountain into Grand Lake.  By the time we made it there it was close to 3:00 and we really could not stay that long, but we grabbed a quick snack and headed back to Estes park where the RV’s were.

That evening we decided to just grab some pizzas and head to the RV park for the evening.  Tomorrow we were going to re-stock on provisions and such, maybe do some shopping in town.

I found out the last time when I was here, there was no walmart for 60 miles, just a Safeway and some specialty shops.  First stop was Safeway which was not as packed as it was the days before when we drove by, but the shelves had been picked over.  We were able to get the basics that we needed, meat, eggs, cheese, frozen food, cat food (it never hurts to grab a bag when you can.), milk, etc…

What Maria did not find was any of the larger sized pull ups that Maggie had been using.  She found a medical supply store about 2 miles away and they were open and she had discretely called and they did carry youth diapers that should work.

“OK we can stop by there after we’re done here” Maria said

“Why not take the Fiat and we will meet you after.  I think we are going to hit up the hardware store next” I said

“That sounds like a plan, David did you want to ride along?” Maria said, knowing that the SUV was tight unless one of the teens rode in the Fiat.

“Sure” David replied.

We got all our groceries paid for, loaded into the SUV and then headed around the shopping center and eventually to the hardware store, which was more like a grocery store without groceries… they had everything but food.

Eventually Maria caught up with us as we were in the hardware store.  Maggie looked none too happy either.  On the ride back to the campground,  David said that the store they went to did not have pull-up type diapers, just the tape on kind, and Maggie was not happy about those, but her mother made her try them on and got several bags of them anyway and made her wear the sample out of the store.

We dropped the groceries off at the RVs and then headed back into town and walked around at the shops and such, got ice cream, chocolates, and such.  We stopped into an outerwear store that I had been in before.  Needless to say I and David both got some hickory striped overalls, and an engineers cap.  I will certainly have mine sent to my seamstress for some snaps in the legs.

We walked around until about 4:00 and then decided to get something to eat for dinner, as we had stuff to do back at camp.  I had started Max and I’s laundry before we left, so first thing I did was put it in the dryer when we got back.  Maria brought a load of laundry over and I started it, then we started getting ready to watch a movie on the TV outside my RV.  First one was a kids movie, animated… so during that time, Carl and Maria slipped back to their RV to get showers and ready for bed, then they sent each of the Teens to get showers, David used our shower.  Maria switched her first load of laundry to the dryer and then started a second load in the washer.

David and Riley both emerged from the RVs in just their onesies and diaper and took their seats and watched the movies.  Maria waited about 30 minutes to let the water heater in their RV recover, and then she ushered Maggie into the RV for her to take a shower and get ready for bed.  They emerged about 20 minutes later as we started the latest Avengers movie.

By the time the second movie was over Maggie, David, Riley and I were pretty much asleep.  We all went into the RV’s and got our last night’s sleep in Colorado.  The next morning we packed up everything, ran through the checklist, dumped the tanks, made sure we were full on fresh water, filled our water bottles, and extra containers before disconnecting.  We stopped and got propane filled up and then hit the road.

We had discussed the night before that we could either drive about 3 hours and stop for the night or we could power through 6 hours and get close to Yellowstone NP.  We decided to get started early, drop the SUV off at the rental car agency and head north.   We drove for about 2 hours, stopped and stretched and topped off on gas, we would do this several more times, as there was a stretch where there was no gas for almost 100 miles, or if we did find gas it was $1.00 a gallon higher than elsewhere.

We ended up rolling into Dubois, WY about 6pm.  Having been here before I knew that places closed early.  So I had told the boys to be changed and ready to go as soon as we got parked at the RV park.  The campground had golf carts that we could take around town, so between the fiat and the golf cart we headed the two blocks to a little diner called The Cowboy Café.  Frankly the whole town was a cowboy town, dirt roads and all

Carl and Max wanted to be adventurous and got the Wyoming Wild Platter, which was spicy elk, Buffalo sausage over grilled onions.  Me I got the Swiss mushroom country fried steak, Maggie got chicken strips and fries, Twins got hamburgers and Maria got a steak.  The food never disappoints.  Max and Carl ate it all, but I could tell it was an acquired taste.

We made our way back to the RV park and turned in for the night, we had a short trip tomorrow to get into Yellowstone National Park.  We would stay there for a week and still not see it all.

I found a car rental place that was willing to meet us at the national park and drop off a 15 passenger van for us, and I had reserved 2 camping spots for us next to each other for the week.

It was a 3 hour drive from Dubois to the Moran entrance of yellow stone and another hour more to get to the campground. We got checked in at the campground, started setting up the campsite and then Carl and I went to meet the car rental people at the Grant village general store and get the keys.

Back at the campsite lunch was being fixed, just some hamburgers and potato chips before going over the plan of what we were going to do.  First stop is Old Faithful, then Grand prismatic springs and whatever we find along the way.

Everybody helped clean up after lunch, getting all food and coolers back in the RV’s, we turned on the magic fans, as there were no hookups.  Both RVs had solar and were charging the batteries, and we could run the generators when we got back until 10 pm, but today that would only be about 2 hours. Luckily the batteries in my RV were at about 85% and Carl said they were at 80%

After getting cleaned up, Maria told the boys to get changed into clean diapers if they needed to. David and Riley came to our RV to get changed while Max and I loaded the van up.  Maria directed Maggie into their RV and she emerged a few minutes later in the same outfit, so I guess it was for a diaper change or getting diapered up for the trip.

It was about an hour drive to get to old faithful and as always it is busy busy busy, we got out to the viewing area and found places to sit and take photos.  The wait was about 30 minutes before the eruption of Old Faithful.  I don’t care how many times you’ve see it, it is still amazing.

Next we traveled to Grand Prismatic springs, but we also stopped off at a few pull outs to look for wildlife as well, and seen several bison.

We made it back to our campsite around 8 pm and fired up the generators to get the AC units going in the RVs and top off the batteries.  We ended up making some campfire pizzas with the pizza stones over the campfire; letting them cool down while we ate and relaxed.

The teens decided on their own to get ready for bed before being told to, as Maria had ushered Maggie into their RV and put her to bed.  Max took me inside the RV for us to get ready for bed, and then we joined the others outside around the campfire.

“This has been a really fun trip, thank you for inviting us” Riley said and David agreed.

“Well just remember it, because in a year or so you two won’t want to hang around with mom and dad anymore” Carl said

“Maggie is having so much fun too” Maria said

“Yeah, first time I came through I did not allow myself anywhere enough time to see everything.  There is so much to see here.  Maybe one morning we should get up early and catch a sunrise from a nice overlook in the park.  Tomorrow we’ll drive around this side of the park, the upper and lower falls, etc.” I said

We spent the next day driving to the Yellowstone falls, stopped at the tower general store for some ice cream, and basically driving through the entire park.

We would spend the next few days doing activities like taking a horseback ride, hiking.  One morning Carl, David and myself got up before 5:00 AM and found the perfect overlook and sat there sipping coffee and waiting for the sunrise.  Of course we shot plenty of photos and video as well. David was getting pretty good with a camera, some of his shots rivaled mine.

We were in Yellowstone for a week, before heading eastward, towards our next stop of Mount Rushmore.  We had to stop off in Gillette WY to get supplies that we had ordered (diapers and food), so we stopped there for the night and left that next afternoon.

It was at this point that I realized that Maggie had pretty much been diapered the whole trip, as Maria had ordered another box of youth diapers for her, to last until we got home.  Of course the twins and I also had more diapers waiting for us.

We made it to keystone, SD the next afternoon and setup camp.  That evening we went to Mt Rushmore to see the monument lit up, via the RV park’s shuttle and then went back the next day to do the full tour.  We also stopped off at Crazy Horse.

At this point we had been out for almost 4 weeks, and everybody was ready to get back home.  I had been checking in with dad about the campground and construction.  Carl and Maria were in close contact with the grocery store and the other two kids.

We had no other places to stop, ok so we stopped in Wall, South Dakota – you have to; other than that we were on our way home, save for the stop at a Dairy Queen in Minnesota to see the Jolly Green giant.

We would drive for a bit, switch drivers and drive some more.  Stop eat, drive some more and stop off for the night.  With having two drivers each we made it home in 2 days.  By this time both RVs needed to have oil changes, and other servicing done.

I will admit it was SO NICE to be in my own bed, I mean crib at home.  We stayed around the house for a few days, and then put the RV’s back out to the campground.

Max and I  stayed out to the campground most of the summer, only taking a 3-4 day trip during the week a couple times.  Mostly we were keeping an eye on the new section of the park that was being built.

Mom and Dad ran most of the management of the campground, and staff with max and I helping out when and as we could.  Carl, Maria and the kids came down some weekends, often David would stay for several days up to a week, followed by Riley as well; usually both were in diapers the whole time. I was beginning to think that Riley was more interested in diapers than he wanted to let on, but at this point it was just unspoken that it was not brought up or made a big deal about it.

The summer played out like the last two, with us closing the campground on the weekend before Halloween.  Everything was pretty much buttoned up by that first week in November, the water shut off, blown out, and the shower house closed up for winter. The construction continued on over the winter as much as it could.

Ch. 29 – New Investments

One thing we did when we returned was to go visit Earl at the campground, and see how he was doing.  He was doing about the same as when we left.  We were still working out if we could make a go of owning the campground and running it.  We let him know that we would have an answer in the new year.

On January 5, 2019 we called Earl and made an offer to purchase the campground.  All of us had plenty of time to talk it over, and we decided to buy the campground.  We paid the asking price that Earl wanted, and when he asked if he could stay in the cabin for 60 days after closing just to get his stuff situated and find a place to live; I said that he could stay there for the next 12 months and after that he could rent it for $1 plus utilities.

As soon as we closed on the sale, I had an electrical contractor out and got a bid on making every spot capable of 50 amp.  Got an estimate on what it would take to clear out the woods and expand in the near future.  They mapped out every wire run and ordered all the equipment needed to get up to the challenge and as soon as the ground had thawed got to work.   The contractor setup shop in the campground and would basically update the park map with what sites were open and what ones were closed.  The project goal was to get it all done before we opened in early May, latest was memorial day weekend.

By the time we opened up for the season in early May, the electrical project was 90% done and was finished that next week.  The campground was booked almost every weekend in advance, and I hired 6 part-time, and 4 full-time employees, to help out, so there was a total of 12 of us working, plus earl still helped out around the office often just covering the phone or holding the desk chair to the floor.  He just wanted something to do.

The second week in June, I got up to find Earl’s house dark, and my calls unanswered.  I went over and knocked on the door and got no answer.  Having a key for this scenario I entered and he was quite sick.  We got the squad out and he got to the hospital, and when he came home we knew it was near.

The second week in July, I got a call from the hospice nurse that it was time.  Earl’s son had came out from the west coast a week earlier, and we put him up at the local hotel and he was on his way.  True to our agreement, he was able to live out the rest of his time in the cabin he built.

The campground was different the rest of the season.  Earl’s son had cleaned out what he wanted form the cabin and said to do whatever with the rest.  Mom, Max, Dad and myself cleaned the place top to bottom…  Putting things in piles of Save,  send to his son,  send to goodwill, and trash.  We worked off an on for 2 weeks, and once cleaned out, we started fixing it up.  New windows, new flooring,  new furniture.  This ended up being a lodge with 5 bedrooms, we put a hot tub in as well on the back deck.

Of course Max’s family came down, we put them up in the new lodge, and they loved it.   David and Riley each stayed with us as well on their own.  I don’t think I saw David ever out of a diaper the entire time he was at camp.  One weekend when they all came, David brought his friend Will too, and I think one night around the campfire I saw the outline of a diaper under his shorts too.  Maybe David found a special friend.

When Riley stayed with us, he was still wearing at night for bedwetting that he had developed (or possibly claimed to have developed).  He seriously was a different person than that first time I met him.

We had a good income and great campers that summer.  We had very little problems with campers, and the ones that we did have were quickly resolved.  Maintenance issues were limited to things like broken water and electric pedestals, clogged toilets and showers.  We were able to keep most of the work in house.  Though our lowes account got plenty of use.  Sometimes it is better to just buy the tools you need than to rent them over and over.

We ended up doing almost double the income that first year. We raised the camping fees 10%, but were almost 100% full the entire summer, most of the seasonal people came back from last year, and the holiday weekend people booked for next year too.  We had lumber clearing contractor come and we were able to add 15 more spots with electric only, another 15 for primitive camping, with the plan to finish them all out with water and electric.

Like the previous year, we planned to close that last weekend in October, winterize everything and have our RV’s out of there and hit the road for the winter.  Dad had scheduled the part-timers who wanted to do winter stuff to check on the place.  Really there was not much to do, make sure no trespassers were in there, check for damage in the buildings, check for downed trees, plow the lane, etc.

This off-season we would be completing many projects.  The lumber clearing company was able to clear out about 15 more spots, which got us up to 75 spots.  The electrical and plumbing contractors would be out when or if the weather permitted it.

Before we closed down we had already sold a good portion of sites to seasonal campers for next year.  The campground was definitely turning a profit and I had no qualms about re-investing.

One of the other big things that we decided to do with the profits of the campground was to purchase another 16 acres on the other side of the campground, through the wooded area surrounding the north and east end.

The area was still mostly wooded, with an area in the middle cleared.  Somebody had once had an old hunting camp there, but the cabin had long since burnt down.  Earl had told me one time that the owners allowed people to walk the trails back in there as long as they did not cause issues years ago, but had since revoked that privilege.  So even before he passed we had been looking at the land.

One day I called the owner up, gave him a price for the plot of land, which was about what it was worth, he settled on our offer.  I then set about our plans.  We were going to build (or buy) cabins for group camping, so we could host private events.  One big bunkhouse, and several smaller single bedroom cabins that can sleep 4.  I had an architect draw up plans for a bunkhouse that had 6 large bedrooms and 4 large bathrooms, large open floorplan with kitchen.  This would take about 2 years total to complete, with needing to get the utilities out there first, so it would take some time.  The utility work would start as soon as we closed and be done at the same time as the other work in the campground.

This new area was going to stay wooded and would be gated off from the rest of the campground.  We wanted to keep it as a private group camp.

Max and I again ventured over to eastern PA for the ABDL convention, and this time I had even more fun and not as much con drop either.  We then headed down the coast to Florida for a month to ourselves, before trying to re-do what we missed last Christmas with my folks, minus the broken arms.

It was nice to relax with no place really to go at any particular time, no phone ringing in the office, camper issues, and more.  After breaking both arms, I finally became more comfortable with being little around my folks.  I also did not care who saw me in little clothes or in little mode.  I did not do dumb stuff like run around in just a diaper, but if I went out and was obviously diapered, I did not care.  Even the hushed whispers and stares no longer bothered me.

Mom and Dad stuck around Florida with us until the new year of 2020, and then we all agreed to move on down the road, my mom and dad were on track for the Grand Canyon, which I had given them all the notes and such that I had on where to stay and what to do.  I let them know all the places I stayed along the ways.

Max and I kind of meandered around the southeast for a bit, headed west along the coast, ended up being about 3 days behind mom and dad, but they decided to stay a few days in Tucumcari and recharge, so we ended up catching up with them about 5 days later in the Grand Canyon.

We ended up going to the winter places in Ehernberg, Lake Havasu and such.  Mom and Dad were both semi-retired, and had nothing to really get back home to until the campground opened.

As it became warmer, mom and dad started heading towards home.  Dad was going to be my point of contact on the construction projects around the campground and the new land.  We followed them kind of zig-zagging towards the Midwest.  We would be a day or two behind, and they would scout out places and we would meet up for a day and they would go ahead.

By the first  of March we had made it back to around Indianapolis, where we parted ways.  Max and I had tickets to an AB event in Chicago.  After that event we decided that we were going to explore this summer.  Mom and Dad said they would handle the campground, I had given dad full control over everything he would want to do , including hiring and firing.  Over the winter we had to fire one of the guys.  He had thought that he could throw a party at the lodge without asking since we were out of town.  NOPE! We know when that gate is opened, closes and how long it is opened, plus we keep cameras going all the time.

While traveling we learned about an idea to keep our payroll down, work campers.  People who want to make some money, and exchange camping spots for working.  We talked with some of the camp hosts about what they liked the most, hated the most, and what they thought a good balance was.  We were going to try to entice some people who would be interested in doing the coming season.

Ch. 28 – Operation Summer camp is complete – Time for a ‘little party’

We wound down the campground and closed mid October with a fall harvest party / trick or treat. We were so worn out from all the work that we did the past 5 months or so maintaining the campground and running it, that we just wanted to relax.

That final night, after all the campers were gone, Max and I were sitting outside around the campfire, when I see Earl walking over towards us.  “Mind of I join you two?” He said as he sat down on one of the stumps.

“Sure, want something to drink?” I said as I opened the cooler

“Naw, I got my coffee” He replied.  “You guys did a good job this year, heck I don’t think I ever had a season as busy as you all did this year.  These last few years my energy has been going down, I haven’t had the strength to devote to this place like I wanted to.  I had planned on clearing out the woods on the other side of the fishing pond and putting electric to there, but I just never could get caught up enough to do it.”

“Yeah it was great” Max chimed in

“Boys, I don’t have that much time left.  I have stage 3 liver cancer, and it looks like it is going to go to stage 4 despite all the chemo.  I’m done.  Docs say I have maybe 12 months, but most likely 6.” Earl said

“Oh my, I am so sorry, I did not know” I said

“I never wanted it to be known as it would influence the sale.  I spent 30 years building this place up with my wife, it was our love, we started out with nothing but the cabin and the lower pond and started having friends camp out, and slowly we bought more land and worked on building it up to what it is.  My wife died alone in a nursing home, I am not leaving here until the funeral home comes to get me.”

“I hope you get your wish.  Have you got anybody looking in on you, helping you out?”

“My son is on the west coast, he is busy with his family, the calls got fewer and fewer.  I called him last week and he wants me to move out there, but I want to stay right here.” Earl said

“I can totally understand that, we will be pulling our RV’s out tomorrow, and getting our stuff out of the office and cleaned up and winterized.  We will get everything closed up for you, as our lease ends November 1.” Max said

“You boys are more than welcome to come by whenever.” He said

Earl bid us farewell, and went back to his cabin.  I knew that if we would buy this place, the cabin would be Earl’s home as long as he was alive and wanted to stay there.

Max and I talked into the night about purchasing the campground.

“I think this was a good investment for the season.  What do you think about purchasing the place?  We grossed about $75,000, and I think upgrading the non-rv sites, and clearing out the woods to add another area for camping, adding a few more could bring that higher.  We could open earlier and possibly stay open a bit later in the season” I said

“We all will have to sit down and decide, you just can’t decide to do this and not have a plan.  You should discuss this with your folks first to see if they want to do this again.  You also need to hire some people, we were quite busy this year.  The 4 of us cannot run this place on our own…we’re gonna get burnt out” Max said

The next afternoon we packed up both RV’s, and readied them for the road.  We were back out later that afternoon with dad helping us close up the campground.  We shut the water off and drained out as much of the underground pipes as we could. Blew them with air and pumped them.  The bath house was closed up as well, winter coverings were fastened up, same as with the lodge.  Earl said the only thing that should be left on in the lodge is some heat, as the office line he transfers to his cell in the winter.

We told Earl we would be checking on him, as he was getting more worn out with his illness and treatments.  He had all our numbers and we told him to call if he needed anything and we would be talking it over about purchasing the place in the next month or so.

Max hopped into the first RV and I guided the new RV out of the spot and down the lane.  I stopped and closed the gate at the end of the lane.

That Tuesday like we had been doing for the past several months, it was dinner with my parents, Wednesday night dinner with Max’s parents.

“So dad, what are your thoughts on the campground?“ I asked my dad

“Well it was fun running it this year, but do you really want to spend all summer there, and not be able to travel?” He said. “Your mom and I liked being out there but we could not run it all by ourselves, we’d need help and also would not want to be stuck there all summer either.  If we were to buy it, we’d need more than just us 4 doing it.  You would need to hire some people.” He said

“How many more people do you think we would need?” I asked

“Probably 2 full time and/or 4-5 part timers, maybe another maintenance skilled person like me.” Dad said “that is just to run it as well as we did this year and allow us to step back”

“So about 8 people?” I asked

“Yeah I think. They could help open the place for the year, cover the office and the maintenance work”

We crunched the numbers and talked on and off the next couple weeks.  We were all still on the fence about it.  On one hand it was great to have a place to stay and have fun, and it was a fun project, but on the other hand it was a lot for us to do and more than my dad and mom wanted to handle.

Finally Max told me that the campground talk had to end for the next 2 weeks.  I was being too grown-up and he wanted his little toddler back.

Max and I were off to the ABDL convention again this year, then we did a long trip towards home.  The whole time, there was no talk about business ventures, just Daddy and I enjoying each other.

Ch. 27 Things can only go up from here.

So my Christmas of 2017 and New Years 2018 was spent being an invalid.  I spent 2 months in casts on both arms, and when they were finally healed it was so great.

The weekend after I got the casts off we took a trip to Fort Wayne to celebrate Riley and David’s 13th birthday.  Max and I got Riley an X-box gift card, David had wanted  the same.  We also got both a case of diapers, Riley plain ones, and David some printed ones, along with about another 10 cloth diapers for both with their names sewn into the back. They got the diapers when we got back from dinner that night.

I must say it is unique to see two 13 year olds not totally horrified by getting diapers, actually they were more than happy to get them.

Once I was free of my casts and able to use my hands again, I wanted to see about getting a new place to camp for the summer.

We looked at some other campgrounds, found some nice places, but their rules were either too lax or too strict.   The final place we drove by, which was about 10 miles from my house, was closed with a for sale sign.  We called the number on the sign and it was the current owner’s number.  He said that he just could not open this season with his health and decided to sell.  He said that it was pretty much ready to open for the year, but he just could not devote the time it needed.

We set an appointment with him for Tuesday to see the property, just to get a feeling about if this would be a good investment.

“Hey! you know I will follow you to heck and back and support you, but you don’t know anything about running a campground, and do you want to be tied to a business this entire summer?” Max said, trying to stop those wheels from spinning.

“Yeah you’re right, but can we at least just meet him and see what he is asking and what work needs.  My dad has worked construction for years, and is pretty handy.” I said

“OK, we will look at it and talk about it, but we won’t be jumping into something without fully talking it over with all involved” Max said

I had texted my dad to see if he could spare some time to help me look about it.

On that Tuesday, Max, Myself and my dad met at the small campground I was looking at.  It had maybe 30 spots and 20 of them were RV spots, with the a few others just having 15 amp electric and water, and the others just primitive. It had a nice office/camp store. Swimming lake and fishing pond, shelter house, shower house and bathrooms.  My dad did the looking about stuff, tested outlets and water, inspected the structures.

“Jase it looks pretty solid, just some minor repairs and cleaning, nothing that can’t be done quickly.  The pedestals are all pretty new, GFCI’s not sharing with the water outlets. I’d have to crunch the numbers and see what you think is fair, but it’s your money.” Dad said

“So would you be interested in a 1 season lease option, just to see if this would work.  We would manage it, you retain ownership of the property.  Then we can see if a purchase would work?” I asked

“Well. I hadn’t thought of that, I was hoping to take the money for the sale and then have to find a new place to live.” The owner said

“So you live on the property?” Max said

“Yes I have the cabin right across from the office, that would be the owner’s cabin” He said

“Well let us talk this over this week and get back to you” Max said

I agreed and so did dad.  We talked it over that night and came up with a proposal to give to the owner.

We would take over the running of the campground and open within 30 days. We would pay a minimum amount each month or 35% of the gross space income.  In exchange we would make the needed repairs, he can still stay in the owners cabin and would not need to do anything at the campground.  He would basically be a permanent camper.

My dad was ready to retire and wanted something for him and mom to do, I was getting tired of not working and traveling every other day or so.  Dad and Max would handle the maintenance stuff and mom and I run the office.

We wrote it all out and presented it to him the next day and he said yes.  Our lease ran from May 1 to November 1

The next two weeks we spent time at the campground learning as much as we could from Earl, the owner, who was not my former landlord Earl.  He said that he would still be around if we needed him, but he was not able to do much in terms of work other than maybe cover the office for a bit.

We moved both RV’s to the campground and parked the older one up next to the lodge. Then we parked our new RV on the best looking spot too.

We painted, cleaned, scrubbed and mowed.  We added WiFi to the lodge, and put several repeaters where we could.  The first thing I had done was get ahold of a pond company, we got the swimming pond as clean as we could do, I wanted blue water and no algae.  It took about 3 weeks of almost daily treatments, but we got it clean.  Then 2 truck loads of sand and we have a sandy beach.  Just in time for memorial day.

We had been open since that first weekend, at a discounted rate while we got things fixed up.  Our constant social media posts and advertising had the phone ringing off the hook the week before memorial day with last minute campers.

We advertised as a family campground, for families and those who want a quiet peaceful experience.  It was amazing how many people wanted just that.  Quiet hours at 10 PM through the week and 11 PM on Friday and Saturday nights.

Memorial day we were fully booked, I don’t think I was tucked in until way after midnight that Friday night, and I lost track of the time Saturday and Sunday night.  Monday as the campground cleared out it was time to relax.  After an afternoon nap, Max got me dressed in my shortalls, printed onsie and a ball cap and let me go over to the playground and play, and then I came back and played outside with my cars in the playpen.

Earl was out on his golf cart and stopped by.  “So you really are a toddler aren’t you.  I knew you were young at heart, but did not know how young you were. Hey you do you” He said with a chuckle, wave and he was off.

I had a nice time playing and then Max said I had to be a grownup for a bit and come into the office. We did the accounting from the weekend. We factored in the 35% cut to Earl as an expense, add in the other expenses to get started and we were still a ways to go before we broke even.

June and into July was still just as busy as that first weekend.  By the end of June we were turning a profit.  Mom and Dad were doing pretty good holding down the fort, so after July 4th Max and I decided to take a week on the road and went up to Put-in-Bay.  We were lucky to find a spot at a campground.  We took the Fiat over to the island via ferry one day, then after that we just rented bikes or a golf cart once we got there.  It was a nice week, but we had to get back to the campground by Friday afternoon.

We had Max’s parents up for a weekend, and David stayed with us for a little over a week, of course he stayed diapered almost the entire time too, even when we had many campers with kids his age.  He’d be running around with his plastic pants showing above his waistband of his shorts and cloth diapers are hard to hide too.  Since we were running the campground, there were no complaints from others.  David never said a thing if anybody said anything to him about his diapers or not.

Maria and Carl said that pretty much the entire summer he was diapered.  A few times even when he had friends over, without a care. Hopefully he will be ready to get out of them when school starts again.

By Labor Day weekend we were all ready for the campground to start dying down.  We had been at  capacity since memorial day.  The expenses for the improvements well paid for themselves. Earl was happy and Mom and Dad liked their cut of the profits.

Ch. 26 – No time like the holidays for an unfortunate accident

We were going to stick around until after Thanksgiving.  The Wednesday before thanksgiving we drove up to Max’s parents, we parked at the store and took the fiat over to their house.  We were going to help his mom get stuff ready for the feast the next day and visit while Carl closed the store.

We had parked in the parking lot of the grocery store so many times, that Carl ended up running a electric outlet out to one of the light poles, we had a key to the outlet box so nobody else could use it.

As soon as we walked in David ran to the door and gave me a hug; I could tell he was thickly diapered under his sweatpants. He then proceeded to hug Max, and wanted to show me some new stuff he got.  He had saved up his allowance to get some printed onesies like I had and a pair of footed PJ’s too.  “That’s cool buddy”, I thought thinking back to how it all started with me that many years ago

“I pretty much came home from school and got diapered today.  I do that often.  Mom and dad are ok with it too” He said, like it is something totally normal for a 12 year old to be doing

“If that’s what you want to do, but you don’t want to stay stuck in the house all the time, playing in your diapers.  You need to have time with your friends too, so don’t let diapers take over your life” I said

“I understand, mom and dad tell me the same stuff too.  I wore diapers pretty much all summer, it was hard for me to go back to school and be out of them.  I almost had an accident once.” He said

“Yeah, at this point, there’s no way I could go without mine.  It’s been 26 months now.” I said

“This summer my friend Will was over here, and I had a diaper on and he saw it.  He said he would not tell anybody and I don’t think he has” David said

“Yeah you have to be careful, as many people don’t understand and just want to embarrass you or make fun of you.” I said, wanting to warn him of the perils of telling others you think you can trust, only to find out you are wrong.

“I don’t think he will do that, he slept over and asked to try one on too and wore it all night” He said

“Well that’s nice.  We better get to the kitchen to help your mom before she sends Max into get us” I said

Max and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with his folks and then went out to dinner with mine the next afternoon.

After that we headed down south again to Florida, down to Key West for a week, then outside Orlando for another 3 weeks.  We were enjoying the sun, sand and warmth greatly, I had already gotten a space for my folks at the campground and they were supposed to be down the week before Christmas, driving the old RV.

About a week before they were to arrive, I was helping Max carry some stuff out of the RV and I opened the door and stepped out and fell flat on my face.  I missed the top step entirely and fell to the ground.  I immediately felt a very sharp pop in my wrists followed by the searing pain in both.  I tried to get up but could not, then all I could do was wail for daddy.  Max ran to the door and hopped out noticing me on the ground.

“Oh my god what the hell happened” Max yelled as a small crowd began to form.

“I dunno my arms and hands hurt so much daddy” I cried

a camper said he called 911, and another came over and looked at me and said it looked broken.

The pain was so bad I think I passed out, i’m a big baby about pain.  I woke up when the ambulance came and I was loaded up on the stretcher.  Max did not come but said he would be right behind us in the car.

I was so scared and in pain, but they gave me some stuff to dull the pain.

The ER doctor had me x-rayed and CAT scanned, but I was pretty much out of it form the pain meds.  I remember somebody saying “this is going to make you really sleepy and when you wake up we’ll be done”

Next thing I know I was waking up in another room and it was night time.

“Hey buddy” Max said as he caressed my hair, you’ve been through a lot, just rest.

“What, ow!!” I said as I tried to move a bit

“I don’t know what happened, it was like you missed the top step and then could not get your footing on the bottom one. When you fell you broke your left wrist, and a bone in your right arm, and twisted an ankle too.  You’re pretty messed up” Max said

I had moved my legs because I didn’t feel that normal thickness in between my legs.  “Daddy, am I diapered?”

“No buddy, they put a tube up there” He said, which made me wince, since I knew what he meant.

The nurse came in and asked if I thought I could hold down some water or 7up, to which I tried, a bit later they brought me a protein shake to get me nourished as I hadn’t eaten all day.

I asked if they could take the tube out and let me get diapered back up like I normally am, nope, had to remain in until the morning.

Both of my arms were in big casts, with pins sticking out, and my ankle was wrapped up.  The doctors wanted me to stay in the hospital for a couple days just to make sure my head CT looked better, I guess I banged my head a little.

It was a good thing that I had made max my medical POA so he could be there with me.

I was still pretty tired, and the pain meds made me even more sleepy.  Max had run back to the RV while I was in surgery and said the neighbors were asking about me.  He grabbed my teddy bear and some diapers and ran back before I awoke, so my teddy bear was with me.

Max stayed all night with me, only leaving the next morning to get breakfast.  He had called my parents and they were on their way in my old RV.

Max came back in after they had taken the catheter out and ended up diapering me in one of my diapers, as the hospital ones just sucked.

On the day I got released my parents arrived and were waiting at the RV for me.  My dad and another guy were working on some make shift hand rails for the RV, so I could get in and out easier.

Max took his care giver job very seriously, which included feeding me, as I had no use of either arm for feeding.

Between Max and my mom, they took great care of me for the two weeks we were down there before I was allowed to travel.  One day my mom and Max were out getting groceries, and I was left with dad taking care of me.  Unfortunately the stool softeners that they gave me to overcome the constipation that the pain pills gave me won and, I had an accident.

“Hey dad, I’m going to need some help.  I hate to ask and if I knew when mom or max were coming back I could wait, but I need changed, I’m messy” I said sheepishly

“It’s ok, but just to let you know, I am not nor have I ever been good at this diaper stuff, even when you were a baby” He said as he paused the show he was watching.

He directed me to the bedroom where the changing mat had been left out.  I pointed out where all the supplies he needed were, and he got started.  I’ll admit my dad was not too bad, sure he gagged, I gagged too.

Mom and Max came back right as dad had gotten me changed into a fresh diaper.

“Tim, you never changed diapers before. You always brought him to me to do it when he was little” My mom said

“Well he was stinking up the place and you two were gone so long” dad said

“Thanks dad”

Two days after Christmas I was cleared to travel and we all hit the road.  Dad had towed his little S-10 truck down with them. They got it hitched back up.

We had flown Max’s oldest brother down to Florida the day after Christmas and he was going to help Max drive back so they could switch off and on.  We didn’t really stop and see anything much on the way back, as the goal was home.

When we stopped, I would usually order things like milkshakes and max would mix in protein powder and I’d order finger foods and mom or Max would feed me as well.

It took us 3 days to get home, but it was so nice to be home, where things are not cramped and tiny.
